Yummy Beef
SUBMITTED BY:
Melissa Brown
"This is a wonderfully simple dish that I have modified a bit to suit my family's tastes, and I think it's fantastic! Make sure you have a loaf of fresh bread with this to soak up the sauce! Serve over brown rice or noodles."

I don't know what other people are talking about when they say this dish has no flavor---I thought it was fabulous!! The steak was so tender and it smelled amazing while it was cooking. The only changes I made was to use diced tomatoes instead of crushed, and zucchini instead of the pepper, just because that's what I had on hand and they worked perfectly. I served this over egg noodles with grated cheese and even my picky toddler ate some!! Thanks Melissa for a dish I'll be making very frequently!

Easy recipe. Great for hectic work days..just stick it in the slow cooker and then enjoy after work.. I added 1 tablespoon of each: italian seasoning, curry. and some salt. I omited the butter. And I also added carrots and green beans half way through cooking. I let it cook in the crockpot for about 6 hours on low.

I used sirloin and was impressed by the tenderness of the meat. As others have noted, the aroma as it is cooking,is wonderful! I thought it was quite flavorful and served it with jasmine rice and freshly baked crusty rolls. It was great!

This is a FANTASTIC recipe!! It turned out delicious and the beef was melt in your mouth tender (I kept it covered in foil the entire time). Great over egg noodles and so simple to make. Will definitely serve this to my crew on a regular basis!

This was not at all "bland and boring", as was suggested by another reviewer. In fact, it was very good and easy to prepare. Additionally, you can further perk it up by adding almost any variety of canned tomato. Multiple flavors and varities are readily available at the store, so this recipe can be modified easily when you're up for a slight change of flavor. All in all, I thought it was very good and I'll certainly make it again.

I sat a moment not really knowing if I should post this; I can't say I would make this again, but I'm glad others enjoyed it. While it did smell delicious while it cooked and the meat was very tender, the dish was just overwhelmingly "tomato". My family picked through for the beef, and left the rest including the sauce. They just didn't care for it. Sorry Melissa, but thank you for posting it.
