This gets 5 stars because my 5 year old ate it!!! She never eats anything new, or any vegetables (other than French style green beans!) Thank you so much for posting this recipe!! My husband also enjoyed this casserole.

This is actually the best version of this casserole that I have made. We had it with grilled salmon, cole slaw and carmelized asparagus. Delicious!!!

We though this one was okay. Mine seemed dry... not sure if that was the intent or not. I was expecting a little more "sauce" in the dish. I have another recipe, which the whole family preferred to this, but thanks so much for something different.

My husband and I both loved this recipe. I just did a little tweeking of my own. Instead of milk mixed with the egg I used fat free sourcream..then I used italian spices and put a bit of parmesan cheese on the top and it really browned and made a crusty top on the casserole. This one is a winner for sure. In my opinion it really does not need the pats of butter on the top before it goes in the oven.

This casserole is awesome! I didn't expect to like it so much. I cut the recipe in half, baked in a 8x8 dish, and used garlic salt and saltine crackers instead. Turned out great. Thanks for the recipe!!

This is the best yellow squash casserole I've tried! I love the egg in it and the buttery crackers. My picky little boy who doesn't eat any vegetables except green beans loved it!

Really really good. I noticed that some reviewers complained that this was recipe too bland. I used sharp cheddar cheese, and I really think that made all the difference! Instead of using water to pre cook the squash and onions, I sauteed them in a little bit of butter. I also added a little extra crackers and cheese topping for some extra crunch. Yum! I might add some garlic next time, but this was very good as is.

This squash casserole was very tasty! It was very easy to cook as well. I did go ahead and drizzle melted butter over the crackers on top of the casserole (because I do all me casseroles that way!) This is definitely a recipe to add to your book! I will use it over and over again. 5 stars all the way!!

Excellent! Best I have ever tried. After reading all of the reviews, I made very few adjustments but not many. Mainly tried it as is. Great! However this recipe is wide open for trying different ways to tweak. Thanks!

Personally, I didn't like this recipe a lot. It was OK but it ended up tasting more like squash au gratin (which I don't care for) than a squash casserole I was expecting. Overall, it was an OK recipe but not one I'd make again.

This is GREAT! I made it for a family reunion picnic last weekend and the whole thing was gone in no time. I made it with no changes to the recipe and my husband and I think it was perfect. I'll definitely make this tasty, EASY, recipe again and again.

I've never made a squash casserole before, so I thought I'd give this one a try. I see now why it's so highly rated. Followed the recipe to a tee and it was good, but precooking the squash made it mushy, to me. Made it again without precooking the squash, added a tbs. of minced garlic and it was to die for. Five stars and highly recommended!

I used half and half instead of milk. If squash is big, peel and scoop out seeds. This recipe rocks.
