My husband does not like squash or zucchini, but he ate and loved this. I used half zucchini and half yellow squash.

This was devoured at my bar b que this weekend. I used club house crackers, garlic, and 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese, but other than those small changes kept it all the same. One guest even told me it tasted better than his moms usual squash casserole. This is a must try recipe and will be used often.

This casserole is delicious! Like a couple of other reviewers, I added some garlic and Tony's while I was cooking the squash. That really added flavor. I did not add the water and I was glad that I did not, it may have been too runny. The consistency was perfect and the flavor was wonderful! Will make again and again!

Yummy! I did make a couple small changes... saw another recipie added 2 tbsp. pimentos, which really added a great flavor to this dish. Also did 1/2 yellow squash and 1/2 zucchini with excellent results. Used breadcrumbs instead of crackers because that's what I had. My husband LOVED this dish!

I added 2 large grilled chicken breasts seasoned with salt and pepper to this recipe. Chop into small bite-sized cubes and stir it into the squash mixture. I also seasoned the squash with oregano and a cajun seasoning mix. My husband and I have decided to add this to our weeknight favorites list! DELICIOUS!!

very tasty...I'm all about simplicity so I cut out a lot of steps. Simply put uncooked squash, onions and cheese/cracker mixture in greased 9x13, poured egg/milk spices on top. MIxed a bit. Poured melted butter on top and added the leftover crumb cheese concoction. Covered w/foil and placed in 325 oven for an hour while I cooked the rest of my dinner. Could've stayed longer or come out sooner! Delicious! and minimal fuss!

I loved this dish! I did make changes. I sauteed the squash, onions and some broccoli (added for more color and flavor) in olive oil with for a couple minutes first. (not very long so they wouldn't get soggy) Then I also added basil and parsley when I mixed everything together. This is a definite keeper!

I use a bag of stovetop stuffing instead of the crackers and it works great and adds flavor.

Delicious! Made this today and loved it! I made everything the night before and put cracker topping on & baked today. This recipe is good for those who don't like the canned soups. Very tasty! We used squash from our garden =)

This is my go-to dish for all get togethers (everyone raves.) The only thing I add is McCormick's Veggie Magic seasoning, it reall makes a diff. When cooking at home, instead of crackers I use crushed All Bran cereal (healthier) and add a bit of cajun seasoning to the squash (like Cachere's.)

Delicious! I cut the recipe in half and used a square pyrex casserole dish. I also used three yellow zucchini (since yellow squash is out of season) and it filled the dish perfectly. I steamed the onions and squash for about 5 minutes and baked the casserole for about 15-20. It turned out perfectly. Great texture, great balance of cheese, crackers, squash and onions. A classic recipe that I will be making again.

I followed the recipe exactly except for the salt and pepper. It was a big hit especially with my 9 year old! Very easy to make and I'd definitely make it again. Nice change to boring squash!

Delish! I did alter it to our tastes. I used onion powder in place of the onion since my husband doesn't have allergic reactions to that. I added some red pepper flakes for some heat and some garlic powder. I also added a Tbsp of wheat germ to the top of the casserole after i put the topping on, and instead of butter I sprayed the top with pam. We ate as a main dish and it was delicious! I added a dollop of sour cream to the top and thought it was perfect!
