I had a friend and her kids over for a cookout, and her 11 year old son told me that I'm the best potato salad maker in the whole world!! Excellent recipe! I was out of cornstartch and used flour instead and it turned out fine. I minced the onions so the kids wouldn't notice them and I could still enjoy the flavor. I also added two more eggs. This is honestly the best potato salad I've ever had.

This potato salad was AMAZING. I only wish I had made more.Roomate said "best potato salad Ive ever had!" The only change I made was I used the red "butter" potatoes and it was very nice and creamy. I loved the sweetness and all the flavors. It was a bit of work, so maybe Ill double the recipe next time, Im pregnant and its a great thing to keep stock of in the fridge for a quick midnight snack :) Will make again.. and again ... and again! thanks for the recipe!

This potatoe salad tastes really strange, too much sugar, vinager, and mustard.I also put jalepenos chopped up into the potatoe slalad if you like spice, and I usually like to put in a lot of old bay. Unless you like a cheap flavor go ahead and try this recipe, but it almost ruined my potato salad.

This recipe is GREAT! The whole family loved and wanted to know when I was going to make more. I used balsamic vinegar since it didn't specify what kind to use. I highly discourage doing because it turned the color brown. I will be using a clear vinegar next time. All in all it was a huge hit. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

I have been making potato salad another way for many years and decided to try this because the sauce was a different twist. I made it exactly as written, just cut back on the sugar a bit, and it still seemed a tad too sweet for me. But, no doubt, this potato salad is good, and I would make it again when I have guest. As for myself and my family, I would stick to my old recipe that basically taste the same, and it just as creamy, without all the added fat and calories of the butter and sugar in this recipe.

This is AMAZING!!! First time I've ever tried to make potato salad & I was a little freaked out.. I was so thankful for all of the amazingly helpful reviews like "don't worry about the smell when its cooking, its normal.." Thx a million for this wonderful recipe we LOVED IT! Oh, and this is a 'sweet' potato salad so, if that's not your style look elsewhere : ) I also only used half of the dressing & let it rest over night then added a little more before serving but, I still didn't use all of it. So you may want to adjust according to your taste.

I am a VERY picky potato salad eater and I have to say, this is now one of my favorites. I always thought my mom's was the best....until now (sorry mom). I doubled the recipe & did find it a tad bit sweet for my taste, but I will just add less sugar next time. Everyone else who ate it thought it was fabulous & I am now the #1 potato salad maker in the family!! Thanks so much for this recipe--I LOVE potato salad and now I can make it on my own instead of waiting for mom to make it!!!

This was my first time making potato salad. It turned out excellent. I added a little relish to it as well, but not a lot. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used what I had, I'm sure that changed it a little but it was still great. Boiling the potatoes whole really saved time, I had never done that before. I peeled them once they were done and they broke up really easily when cut to give it a real homestyle appearance. My husband declared it was really good, and that he was taking it to work the next day........that is an accomplishment in my house!

Delicious! I didn't have evaporated milk, but plain skim milk worked fine for me. I also cut back on the sugar- I used slightly less than 1/4 cup. Thanks for sharing!

This was an okay recipe. I'm giving it 4 stars because my dh liked it. It was fairly easy to make, and the taste was alright. I'm not so sure I'll make this again.

For someone who has never made a successful potato salad, this recipe was easy to follow and tasted pretty good...just not sure it was worth all the effort. my mom makes a killer potato salad and just uses plain ol' mayo for the dressing. maybe this recipe is just missing some ingredients that i normally like in my salad, like granny smith apples for a crunchy, sweet tang, and shrimp, for a contrasting savory flavor and texture.

Ok, i finally made this recipe and it came out great!...kudos from everyone who ate it...I used scallions instead of reg. onions and added some pepper...i normally don't use a lot of salt, i just let everyone add their own, but this is a keeper...i might add a bit less vinegar next time, but all in all a really great potato salad..thanks!

I didn't change a thing in this recipe- and I'm so glad I didn't! Everyone in my family loved it. My husband usually hates potato salad because he finds it bland, but he absolutely loved this. I usually have to cover store bought potato salad in salt and pepper, but this was perfect right out of the bowl. Everyone complained that I didn't make enough!

This was good, I followed others advice and changed white onions to green, changed sugar from 1/2 cup to 1/3 cup and add 1 tsp of celery seed. The flavor was superb, the reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is that it was way too much sauce, everything else was perfection
