Yep it's the best. I can modify and tweak recipes for this site with the best of them, but this one just doesn't need it. Its fantastic as it is written.

Best Lasagna I have ever tasted, and I made it. Well worth the labor.

Delicious! I made a few changes (e.g. doubled the ricotta and the mozzarella, reduced the sugar since the sweet Italian sausage I had was already pretty sweet.) I am going to see what else this contributor has out there!

everyone LOVED this recipe! i changed it a bit and did ground pork instead of ground beef and i also had over a pound. there was a ton of sauce left over (probably because i used a dish that was not deep enough). wonderful recipe! read other reviews that said they added nutmeg to the ricotta and so i did, it was a great addition! thank you for the recipe!

The only change I made was to omit the fennel seeds since i didn't have any, I added a bay leaf to the sauce instead. This recipe is awesome!! My husband usually won't eat anything with ricotta so the fact that he finished his plate with no complaints was huge for me. I thought it was wonderful! Next time I'm going to leave the foil on for almost the entire cooking time and only take it off to brown the cheese for the last few minutes. Following the directions with my oven resulted in a crusty top layer of overcooked/lightly burnt cheese about 2" all the way around, but it still tasted great!

Wow, this lasagna is amazing! My hubby & kids loved this! I just made it last weekend and they are already requesting it again. The only thing I did different was omit the fennel seed as I was out of it. Other than that I followed the recipe. My house smelled wonderful all day and the lasagna tasted great!

Thanks John. Never made lasagna before. Tried this recipe, and the family loved it. My sons, who never go back for seconds, went back for thirds. Even had it for breakfast 2 days later. Only variance, eliminated fennel, cut back on salt and sugar, and used Barilla no-cook noodles, no need to boil them first hand. Just layered them on per the recipe. Got plenty of noodles left and will be doing this again. Thanks again.

The sauce was very good. I couldn't find fennel seeds so I just compromised with what I had. Will be making this tomorrow for the family.

This one is a keeper! Made it with gluten free lasagna noodles and cheated by using store bought spaghetti sauce (had that in the pantry) instead of tomatos, tomato sauce and tomato paste. I put it two pans, one for the oven and one for the freezer.
