Original Recipe Yield 4 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (170 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter or margarine and sugars.
  3. Stir in egg, oil, vanilla, baking soda and flour. Mix until well blended.
  4. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Drop on cookie sheets. If desired, sprinkle with sugar before baking. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
