First off, thanks for submitting this great recipe. I made the batter EXACTLY as given (it always bothers me when folks change a million things and then complain about how the recipe turned out...submit your own!). I also used a Waring Pro rotating Belgian waffle iron, heat dial to 5.5 and let it cook a bit past the first beep cycle.
These waffles were some of the best I've had. They remained crispy on the outside even though I poured syrup on top and walked away to load my dishwasher. I plan to put mini choc chips in the batter for my kids. These were great, and the batter really only took me about 12 minutes to prepare, even with the yolk/white separating.
