All I have to say is my mother in law is the best cook ever and she LOVED this recipe. My husband has to add salt and pepper to every single dish and he did not have to do that with this dish. So, i just want to say thank you!!!!! It was delicious!

My family is not very fond of ribs, but we gave them a try with this recipe a few weeks ago, and while the meal was so so, the recipe was fantastic. My husband said he wanted to try it on a beef roast! Very versatile, and delicious!

I cut off as much of the visible fat as I could, then browned the ribs and drained them on paper towels. They were still too fatty, but the flavor was very good. This recipe is very easy and definitely worth keeping. Next time I'll use lean beef cubes instead. I didn't have tomato sauce so I used crushed tomatoes - it gave the sauce a nice texture.

Excellent recipe. I didn't have the lemon juice or pepper flakes though. The sauce is so versatile I could see using it for more than just shortribs. Well worth trying!

This is a great recipe. I had to substitute some tomato paste (and water) for 8oz. of the tomato sauce. It was DELICIOUS, definitely a keeper. The crushed red pepper added a nice zing - but I may use less next time to accommodate the kids. I also used red onion - very tasty. The boneless short ribs were perfectly cooked after 3 hours.

Oh my goodness! This was yummy and the smell took over my house while cooking. I used diced tomatoes with green peppers and onion instead of sauce. It was great, also added chunks of fresh zuchinni from the garden and served over rice. Will make this again.

My first time trying short ribs. As a cut of meat, I wasn't too crazy about how fatty they were. But this recipe seems to do the best it can with what it's got to work with. I also added about 1/2 cup of red wine and some garlic to the sauce, along with some extra water. I think they could have done with cooking even longer, perhaps even all day in a slow cooker. The result was extremely rich-- it's easy to get filled up on these very quickly.

I don't review many recipes, but I do have to say that my girlfriend and I loved this recipe! It wasn't exactly 5 stars, but it was no less than 4. We used a slow cooker, took about 3 hours, meat was fallin off the bone. We made spanish rice to go with it, went great with the tomato sauce. Will for sure make again! Also, didn't have any onions on hand, so we used onion powder instead. Would have been a bit better with real onions. Overall, a four and a half star recipe. More people need to try this one!

The flavor of this sauce was great! We didn't really like the meal, but it was because our meat was too fatty, not because the recipe wasn't wonderful. I think I will try it again with chicken breasts or something because the sauce was so good.

I cannot even put in to words how well this turned out. My husband couldn't get enough, and is still raving about it days later. I will be using this recipe again, and again in the future. It would adapt perfectly for crock pot use. The variations for this recipe are endless. Thanks again for a perfect recipe!

I followed the advice of others who have reviewed this recipe and browned the short ribs fist. I also added 1/2 cup of red wine to deglaze the pan before adding the sauce ingr. Try this one. You won't be disappointed.
