Lovely recipe!! My work has a WONDERFUL spinach strawberry salad in which the poppyseed dressing is used. It is spinach leaves, strawberries, mandarin oranges, onions, and sunflower seeds - but I dislike the oranges and onions on there. Perhaps some of you would like to try this dressing on something similar!! :)

Great Salad - all the ladies at my luncheon asked for the recipe. I did use butter lettuce along with the romaine and used craisins rather than the cranberries. I peeled and diced my pears and apples the night before so just kept them in a seperate container with some of the dressing covering them they stayed nice and white. I did not feel like getting the food processor out so just used my electric mixer and the dressing was delicious. I had considered doubling the dressing ingredients but I'm glad that I didn't as there was plenty of dressing.

I wanted to prepare something different for Thanksgiving this year and this made a great hit. It was the only dish that was entirely eaten. I recently made it again with the request of my daughter who loves it. I did not change a thing.

This is an excellent salad. Unfortunately, I foolishly bought the apple and pear at a store with low-quality produce, so they weren't good in the salad, but I think they would be good if their quality had been higher. I used slivered, toasted almonds instead of cashews and feta cheese instead of swiss. There was lots of extra dressing, but fortunately I had extras of the other ingredients, too, so I got to have more salad the next day.

Served this at a lunch party I had for my girlfriends. Everyone seemed to like it. It was sweet and a nice combination of flavors. I put the dressing on the side and next time will probably make half the amount of dressing it calls for because I had a lot of left over dressing.

Made this last night. It was delicious. I might adjust the dressing with a little less sugar and more lemon for more tang and less sweet.

I tried this for the first time for a family gathering and got rave reviews. The only modification to the original recipe was to not peel the fruit and I mixed butter lettuce and romaine (the super easy already washed and in the bag kind). I didn't think there was way to much to much dressing unlike other reviewers but calories are a concern for us if it is a special occasion. There was 15 people and only half or a little over half was eaten but there was a lot of other side dishes. I'm sending on the recipe to a number of people that asked for it :)

This recipe was just awesome! I served it at a large gathering and it was a hit both for how pretty it is and it's wonderful flavors. I did of course change some things so here is what I did. I used canola oil instead of vegetable oil. I also used about 3 different types of mixed lettuces, which added to the pretty factor and flavor. I used more pears and winesap(more tart & red) apples and treated them w/ lemon juice to prevent browning. I realize the dressing has lemon juice in it, but by the time it would have all gotten together I would have had browning apples & pears which is not appealing. Great Recipe and now one of my favorites!

Another great recipe from this site. My husband and I loved the dressing which I served on the side. I used shreds of parmesean cheese as I do not care for Swiss. This is as good as Jamies Spinach Strawberry Salad. Will try a spring mix blend of lettuces next time.

This salad is wonderful. I did take some liberties with the ingredients since I didn't have cashews (subbed almonds) and didn't feel like peeling an apple, but the rest I followed. I didn't measure the dressing ingredients but just put it in. I made enough dressing to coat the salad, which turned out to be about 4 servings of salad, but really made about 1/2 the dressing. I'm glad I did; most dressings for salad seems to make twice as much as we want on our salad. Other than that, this is a perfectly delicious salad. I love the flavors with the pears. Thanks for the recipe. I'll make it again!

The salad is wonderful! The dressing is FABULOUS! I use splenda or half splenda instead of all sugar and it is fine. It's got that lemon pucker but perfect sweetness and my family and friends love it. Also, I use this on romaine, red onions, red pepper, strawberries, pecans and feta cheese. It is to die for and crave it everyday.

Great salad. Prepared everything before hand and just tossed it together before we ate. Due to personal preference, used toasted, slivered almonds instead of cashews and left out the cheese. The almonds were the favorite part of the salad. Will use this recipe again.

Excellent Salad!! I made this for our Labor Day BBQ and it was a HUGE hit. I did use two heads of romaine lettuce instead of one, and it was gone by the end of dinner. I will definetly add this to my book :)

I've made this several times, and have loved it each time. Any time I take it somewhere, people ask for the recipe. I make it just the way it is outlined, except I usually add more cashews and dried cranberris, becasue they are so good.
