This was excellent and (served on Christmas) was really eaten instead of left behind in favor of all the other goodies on the table. I decided to make this because last week I was at a very fancy and expensive restaurant that used dried cranberries in their salad. I had never had that before and it's delicious! I used fresh lemons for the dressing. For an every-day occasion, I may use bottled poppy-seed dressing to speed things up.

I made this for Thanksgiving this year and my family asked me to make it again for Christmas! Beautiful AND tasty. I substituted 1T dried minced onion in a pinch and dressing still turned out great!

Awesome salad! I brought it to a ladies' Christmas luncheon, and it got rave reviews. Just the right combination of citrus and salad. As another reviewer suggested, I juiced fresh lemons for the dressing. It was definitely worth the effort!

This is SO GOOD! The cranberries and apples bring just enough sweet to the salad to make it REALLY YUMMY!

This has become one of our holiday standards. It's a great addition to the usually heavy Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners, and the flavours are wonderful. I've experimented with a bunch of mild cheeses, and find that Havarti is my favourite in this recipe.

Great recipe. I have made this several times. It's always a hit. Beware the lettuce does start to wilt quickly once the dressing is on so wait until the last minute to do that! I wouldn't change a thing!

I recently made this by substituting Splenda for the sugar and replaced the fruit with grilled chicken-- (lower carb meal). I also used roasted almonds instead of cashews. It tasted great. I look forward to following the recipe exactly for the next picnic or potluck.

YUM! Our favorite salad! I have brought it to a lot of potlucks and people always ask me for the recipe afterwards. It needs no doctoring, it is just perfect, although we have used Asian pears for the pears and they add a lovely texture.

Absolutely perfect! This is an easy salad to pull together with ingredients you usually have around. * JUST ONE CHANGE: FETA, not Swiss.
