Great recipe and a real crowd pleaser! Can vary if you want to get creative. I have left out cranberries and used pear and apple slivers. Also used mandarin oranges. Cashews are good - so are toasted pine nuts. Can't go wrong!

I got this recipe from a gal in my bunco group and use it when we have guests. Everyone always loves it. I always make it according to the exact recipe.

It's very good. I would just cut on the sugar and oil to decrease the calories.

Very Good! Only thing I would do differently.... I had cut up and put the apple and pear into the dressing like someone had suggested. I brought this for a dinner and by the time I served it the dressing was really watered down from the fruit juices. I would wait to cut up the fruit closer to dinner so it doesnt brown, and not put it in the dressing.

We liked this a lot. I didn't have a pear, so we just used the apple. (I sized this down to 4 servings.) I didn't enjoy the Swiss in it. I think I'd have preferred almost any other flavor of cheese, and will probably try it with Cheddar at some point. The dressing is very good and we particularly enjoyed the flavor of the dressing on the raw apples--in fact I can see eating a bowl of apples with this dressing on it as a side dish sometime! By the way, this exact same recipe by the same author is on here twice...don't forget to go rate that one too!

I love this recipe. Make sure to use ripe fruit, it really does make the difference. Wouldn't change a thing.

This was really delicious. I gave 4 star because although it was very good nothing compares to the strawberry spinach salad on this site. Had I tasted this one first I probably would give 5 stars. But I will probably make again someday. thanks

Great recipe! I didn't have any swiss so I also used feta as others suggested. I would also use gouda as another option. Thanks for this recipe, everyone enjoyed it!!

Good salad! I added a splash of balsamic vinegar to the dressing because I thought it was missing something.

I have made this salad a number of times but never got around to reviewing it. I have served this at large gatherings (over 100 people) and at holiday dinners with my family and it is always delicious and everyone loves it and wants the recipe. The salad dressing is the best poppyseed dressing ever and can be used on lots of different types of salads.

Warning - you must bring a copy of this recipe with you whenever you bring it to a potluck, since you will surely be asked for it by someone. When bringing it, I chop the apples and pears and put them in the dressing so they won't brown. Then I add that to the rest of the salad just before serving.

This is my go-to dressing recipe for salads with any fruit in them. It is PHENOMENAL. It meshes well with both winter and summer ingredients.

Add grilled chicken breast and this side turns into a complete meal. We have this almost once a week for dinner.

This salad is delicious and the flavors of the fruit, cheese, and nuts combine beautifully. I added shredded chicken to make it a main dish rather than just a side dish. This salad looks very elegant as well and this is something I would serve for a dinner gathering or to bring to a summer picnic. However, I would add the cheese just before serving, as I think it would get too soggy if it sat in the salad for too long.
