Really simple and really good. Only thing different I did was cut WAY back on the salt and melt a little unsalted butter and pour it over the dough before baking. This went really well with the Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup.

dh (a.k.a. the beer snob as I call him) recommended New Castle Brown Ale to accent the flour in the bread (this coming from someone who only eats frozen food if I'm not home) anyway, the bread came out great! I made 3 breads the first time, then changed the brown sugar to a semi-packed 1/2 cup for the next 3 beers and it was PERFECT! So similar to Tastefully Simple wheat beer bread! Tomorrow I'm picking up a 6 pack of Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale for a great fall beer bread and still plan to keep the brown sugar at 1/2 semi packed, can't wait!

Help! What did I do! I love beer bread. And I love wheat bread, so why did this not turn out? I made exactly as stated. Didn't even add the butter. It tasted metallic-y. Was it the baking powder? I thought 4 1/2 t. sounded like way too much, but went with it since none of the reviewers mentioned anything. Want to make it again but not if that is really the final product! Adding some sharp cheddar cheese made it edible.

Wonderful addictive bread. Have made several beer breads and love em all. Can also substitute white flour for wholewheat here if necessary. Great recipe to submit.

Great texture, but awful taste (I hate the taste of beer so it's not the recipe it's me...). I made it because I was curious. Extremely quick and easy...beer-lovers, try it!

Oh my goodness, this is fantastic-and so simple! Perfect with soup. I love how it’s so quick and you don't have to let anything rise. Unfortunately, I didn't have whole wheat flour, so I used all-purpose for the entire thing-I know, not as healthy:) Next time I will try oat flour- you can make it just by pulsing quick oats very finely in the food processor. Make sure you check yours all the way in the middle-mine takes a long time and sometimes turns out sticky!

Loved this recipe, as did my husband! I did add 1/4c margerine over top for the last 15 minutes of baking and it really turned out nice!

This turned out better then I thought. I dont drink alcohol let alone beer so I actually had no idea what beer to use. I did settle on bud light. I liked the texture and consistency of the bread. Also used whole wheat graham flour instead of regular whole wheat flour only b/c I grabbed the wrong flour. Thanks for the recipe. I think I'll try a different beer next time for sure.

Really good. I took the advise of other reviewers and melted butter on top. I think next time I will add some cheese to the mix. I served this with curried zucchini soup and it went really well together. Fast and easy.

This could not be easier!!! I followed the recipe, added 2 tbsp of flax seed meal for a little extra added nutritional benefit and used a homemade Scotch Ale. The bread is EXCELLENT! Thanks for a keeper!

Ha!! And I always thought I needed a bread machine to make bread?! This is my new favorite recipe and I can't wait to make it again. I followed the recipe to a T, used a can of Budweiser, and it turned out fantastic. I can already tell that I'm going to save a fortune on bread (good rolls cost 50 cents a piece at the grocery store!) My next mission is to figure out how to get it a bit less crumbly so I can use it with sandwiches. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

I cannot believe this is a quick bread. Smell while baking is incredible, texture is awesome, and end result is super tasty. All I had was Heineken light, but I can't wait to make this with a Guinness. Mmm. Did add the melted butter, since almost every other reviewer did; probly about 1/4 cup.
