These were not sweet enough. I took others advice & used applesauce instead of oil. Also I used 3 ripe bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon & left the honey out because I didnt have it. I baked it in muffin pan & they fell apart when trying to get them out. The texture was good, however they werent sweet enough for me.

I made this recipe into 16 muffins, they turned out really good..I didn't have honey on hand so used a bit of brown sugar and added flax seeds for even more health benefits..I added a few mini chocolate chips to half of the batch and the kids loved them..I did use WW pastry flour so they are nice and light....great recipe, will definately make again.

This was the best healthy whole wheat thing I have ever made! I did use about 6 smaller very ripe bananas and it equaled about a cup and a half! It was very moist and delicious! The only other thing I added was a bit of cinnamon!

This recipe is so moist. I only substituted applesauce for the oil to make it healthier. I have never baked entirely with whole wheat flour, so I was nervous. But this is so yummy, my kids and hubby loved it.

This was some top notch stuff. Didn't have any nuts, so I threw in an extra banana, and replaced applesauce for the oil (health junky). This is SO moist and so good. Next time, however, I'll be adding some more nutmeg.

Delicious! I took someone's suggestion and added 1/4 cup banana, super moist! Also, I use coconut oil instead, and I added more, too, and used carob chips in my kids' loaf and chocolate chips in mine :)

Very good. I did not have walnuts on hand so I substituted pecans. Next time I plan to try plain yogurt for the oil. I also doubled the recipe and it worked great. Mine did have to bake about 15 minutes longer. Will make it again for sure.

Loved this recipe! since one person said it was a little dry, I increased the oil by a couple of tablespoonfuls. Also increased the honey by about that much. I added about a quarter cup of wheat germ. And my favorite part--I added 1/2 cup of craisins (dried cranberries)! Delicious!!

I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. Many whole wheat recipes don't taste , well, very tasty. This one did. Now I have baked many a traditional banana breads , and this one was just as tasty and just as moist. I did try some of the other suggested changes. For example I did substitute apple sauce for the oil and half brown sugar and half honey, instead of all honey. I also added a tsp of cinnamon and a tablespoon of flaxseed meal. I kept everything else the same and it came out great. I will no doubt make this again and again.

This is a great recipe! I have to make a double batch because my husband loves it so much. I use a mixture of flours (oat, unbleached, spelt, etc.) and leave out the nuts. I also follow the suggestion of another user to use two tablespoons of oil and replace the rest of the oil with (unsweetened) applesauce. I love that there is no refined sugar in this recipe!

Very simple recipe. Easy to make, easy to eat! Don't expect complex or robust flavors, just simple goodness. I'd make this again for an "everyday" recipe but I'm still searching for something a little more depth to serve company. Maybe I'll add some cinnamon next time.

This was fantastic! I love recipes that use wheat flour. I baked my bread only 52 minutes, and it was perfect. I also left off the walnuts (just a personal preference). Thanks for the recipe, as well as the tip about freezing the bananas!

I've made banana muffins from this recipe several times, and they always turn out beautifully. I omitted the nuts and added chocolate chips instead. I also used whole wheat pastry flour because I wanted a lighter, more "cake-like" texture for the muffins. The flavor of the banana isn't very intense, but it's still very tasty. I tried adding a little cinnamon to my second batch, with helped to cure the blandness that one reviewer mentioned. Overall, this is the best (and easiest) "healthy" banana bread/muffin recipe I've found so far.

This was good bread using all whole wheat flour. Following other suggestions, I used 1/4 honey and 1/4 brown sugar as sweetener. I also used egg substitute instead of eggs and added cinnamon and a full cup of pecans. I didn't have any applesauce this time, but I will definitely use it next time. The bread is too oily for my taste made as is, and I think the applesauce would have enhanced the flavor a bit. It was lacking on spices, next time I'll add even more cinnamon and some nutmeg. Overall pretty good though, did take longer to cook, about 70 minutes for me.

My whole family loved this- including my husband who hates healthy food. Here are the changes I made: 2/5 C applesauce instead of the oil; 1/4 C honey plus 1/4 C brown sugar for the sweetener; 2 mashed bananas; 1 1/2 C whole wheat flour plus 1/4 C ground flax seed; 1/4 C nuts with 1/4 C raisins; 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Yummmmm. Super moist.
