This is the best cookie recipe ever. Follow it exactly and you'll be amazed at how simple and perfect they are. I've sub'd milk or dark chips and walnuts, still awesome.

YUM YUM YUM! Didn't have almond extract so just used vanilla, but otherwise followed completely and it was AWESOME! Thanks :)

This cookie is very good. Like other reviewers, I cut the almond extract in half and added more vanilla extract. I may add a little more sugar next time. Will definitely make this cookie again.

I made a few alterations due to lack of ingredients. I used good quality dark choc chunks, only vanilla and like some other reviewers did half butter and half shortening. The only other change was I made them WAY bigger and then flattened them with damp fingers. I love them and am planning on hiding them before my husband gets home!!

These cookies are to die for. I tried the half butter/half crisco version too. Also, cooked on parchment paper and they came out perfecto. Can't wait until the boy gets them in the mail to hear the reviews!

These cookies are amazing! I followed others' advice and used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening, baked for 10 minutes at 350 and they turned out perfect! I won over all of my boyfriend's friends with these cookies. :)

Awesome! I did make two changes... 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening, plus I added 1 t. of vanilla and omitted the almond. Plus, I chilled the dough 2 hours before baking.

These were pretty good! I'm a little unsure about the almond extract. I'm going to try this recipe again with just vanilla extract and also pre-salted macadamia nuts like another reviewer tried to see if it gives them something extra. I love white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and am still searching for that "perfect" recipe.

I followed the recipe exactly, except for using 1 tsp. of vanilla extract instead of 1/2 tsp. each of vanilla and almond since I didn't have almond on hand. They turned out wonderfully! For me, they definitely turned out on the puffier end (I did mix the heck out of the batter with an electric mixer), but I just flattened the dough a little before baking. They are a keeper and I'll be making them again.

This cookie was just ok... I think 10 minutes was too long to bake as they burned on the bottom...... Substitutions: I only had dark brown sugar(not light)...doubled vanilla as I did not have almond extract...and used 1/2 white and 1/2 whole wheat flour. I also used chips as I did not have a chunk of chocolate......Baked on parchment paper. Maybe my new oven runs hot?...........I tried a second batch and watched it closely about 8.5 minutes. They were much better asnd did not burn. Still not a 5 star in my opinion. Probably all the substitutions.

Cookies spread a little more than I liked. I like my cookies a little chewy though. I also added the zest of two limes to make the cookie have a little "pop" of flavor.

My husband loved these cookies. I did sub the sticks of butter with Smart Balance butter sticks and they were still wonderful. I highly recommend these wonderful cookies.
