I thought this was a really good recipe. I didn't find it too sweet at all. The thing I didn't really like is that it was rather heavy, but that could be because of my yeast. I will definetly use this recipe often.

I made this basic white bread for a friend who is undergoing radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer, which means she can’t eat the regular iodine found in many foods for the next couple of weeks. I used olive oil and no-iodine salt as recommended by the NIH guidelines for this treatment. I used 2 tsp of yeast as per other recommendations, subbed 1/2 cup of white flour for wheat, and I used the 80 minute setting. My friend loved it.

I love this bread! My bread machine has 3 settings for white bread - I have to use the light setting, otherwise the crust is more crispy than I like.

This bread was far FAR too sweet. Once I reduced the sugar by about a third it was just fine.

This recipe turned out wonderfully! reduced the salt just a bit to suit my taste. I think those of you who are complaining about the bread not riding may want to check the yeast you are using. I have made this bread several times with excellent results. It is VERY important that you check the DATE on your yeast! This is a common problem, and can be a major disappointment I know! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

This was very easy to put together and turned out yummy. I liked this recipe a lot better than the one I had been using. I substituted olive oil for the veggie oil and reduced the salt. I will definitely make this one from now on!

I won't buy store bought bread again. This recipe is perfect! I tried it on the dough cycle and baked in oven @375 degrees for 25 min, and it came out perfect. Thanks for such a great recipe.

I agree with the best reviews. This recipe came out far better than any mix I have ever used. It was so fluffy that I thought it might overflow. But, it didn't and was perfectly cooked! As per one review, I also used slightly less salt.
