Pretty good for being dairy-free. I added 3 TBS Gluten powder to make it softer.

Great bread! I set the machine for a 1 lb. loaf, light crust and followed the recipe as directed. This is an ideal recipe for our family because we're avoiding dairy (allergies, etc.).

Not sure what I did wrong, I followed this recipe, using a sunbeam 5891, 1.5 loaf setting, crust color medium. The bread is too dense. The taste is good, I guess I should have set the crust color to light, because it is too dark to my liking. What did I do to get it so dense? too much flour? not enough yeast? Using SAF yeast, Gold bread flour, sea salt, olive oil, white sugar, please help?

The first time I made this, the bread rose so high that the bread hit the lid of the bread maker and blocked the vent! Still turned out a delicious loaf. For the second loaf, I cut back the yeast to 2 Tablespoons. It did not rise as far as to block the vent, but still hit the lid. Next loaf, I will cut the yeast back to 1 and 3/4 and see what happens. The bread is very light and fluffy. Made great toast. It seems to tear easily when cutting, so let it cool. I will most likely refridgerate the next loaf before cutting if I intend to use it for sandwiches.

Try substituting the oil and sugar with butter and honey. It makes this wonderful bread recipe even that much better! Even as written, this bread comes out perfect. I love this very easy recipe.

I love this recipe! I chose to use my bread machine for the mixing and kneading of the dough, then bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 min. I made a couple of minor changes. Instead of vegetable oil, I used olive oil like many of the other reviewers, when I ran out of olive oil, I used canola oil and both loaves came out great tasting. The texture was a little airy and I had a hard time cutting it into slices. So the next time I made the bread I added 2 Tablespoons of "Blue Chip" Dough Enhancer per 3 cups of white flour and it was the perfect bread! My husband loves it!

Holy Cow!!! This came out perfect!!! I didn't think bread machine could actually taste this good. It's easy to cut, it's stayed fresh (I put it in a bag and then in the fridge), it's stayed softer than any other recipe's I've tried to date, and tastes just like the bread you can get in the store. I WILL be using this recipe from now on! Yippee!!!

This is a favorite. Quick as dough in the bread machine and then baked in the oven. It also makes a good pizza!

Oh YUM! I read through a lot of reviews and and made the following changes based on what I read: Added 1/2 tsp each garlic powder, oregano & basil. Added 1 tsp dried onion. I used olive oil & all-purpose flour in place of the recommended oil & flour. And I also used 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour in place of the white. Set bread machine to dough cycle, removed dough ball and smoothed into loaf pan. I baked it 375' for exactly 25 minutes. This vegan bread is just perfect. The herbs I added gave it a slight hint of flavor without over-powering the delicious bread flavor. The consistency is similar to our local bakery's bread and it's great for sandwiches, just a slice w/ butter, dipping in soups....

The bread looks good, the texture is good, but the bread does not taste good. It's actually salty and almost inedible. I may make this again and decrease the amount of salt by a full teaspoon, but as-is, it's horrible.

I use olive oil and coarse sea salt, but no other changes. This is an amazing recipe. It makes the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. yum! I ran out of bread flour the other day and used 2 cups bread flour and one cup whole wheat. It was pretty good too, but not as soft.

Great recipe. Been looking for a good white bread recipe for my bread machine since I got it. Once again it passed the ultimate test, my wife loved it. Is better than any bread machine mix I've ever tried. Will definatly make it again.
