I changed the recipe using instant potatoes to save time. When finished, it was too soft and wasn't as rich as I hoped. To use instant potatoes I would use milk, and no water and increase sour cream. I imagine the original recipe would have wonderful

These are great! If you're looking for something quick, tasty, and convenient this is the recipe for you! I made these to take to my mom's house for Thankgsgiving and just popped them in the fridge until I'm ready to re-heat (bake) later. I did try while still warm and they tasted great! Perfect as a side.

Very yummy! I made these for Christmas Eve dinner, where everyone is asked to bring a dish. Everyone from kids to adults liked them. I added some salt and pepper and then used 1/2 packet of the dry Hidden Valley Ranch Buttermilk dressing mix. It gave them a really good flavor.

good, though posibly more work than worth it for how much better they are than normal mashed potatoes

I made these potatoes for my boyfriend's big family holiday party and they were a hit! I even mis-read the recipe and added four 8-oz bricks of cream cheese instead of 3-oz packages (I quardrupled the recipe). The potatoes ended up a bit richer than I might like on an ordinary day, but for Christmas dinner, it worked out! I also took a tip from a different recipe and boiled my potatoes in vegetable broth. I later used about 1 cup of the broth to thin out the potatoes.

Was very creamy but tasted like it was missing something. Otherwise, my family loved it. Great recipe. Would make again with a few tweaks <3

Delicious and very creamy. Instead of garlic salt, I used 5-6 garlic cloves and steamed them with the potatoes.

I have made this many times for many occasions. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can make it the day before and bake it the next day before serving, as long as you bring it to room temperature before putting it in the oven. Onion salt is a good sub for the garlic salt and I like to also add a couple pats of butter on the top to brown it in the oven.

My sister-in-law made this recipe for our Christmas dinner. She made a dble recipe, and it was prepared the day before and refrigerated. Because it was baked from a refrigerated temp, we baked it for 1 hour. This recipe is well balanced in flavor, and has nice consistancy. It is delicious with baked ham. Definately a keeper!

Mmm-Mmm good! I had a craving for some potatoes and these hit the spot! Turned out nice and creamy with a great seasoned taste. I definitely used more than a pinch of salt and pepper but to each his own! Served with chicken fried steak II, biscuits and salad, yum!
