5 stars for flavour! For firm frosting that you can pipe, use Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese which comes in a brick. Other cream cheese will be too soft resulting in runny frosting.

It's wonderful if you whip in a bit of cinnamon!

Not quite as firm as I would have liked. I spread it onto the too much chocolate cake, and it kind of ran down the sides. Maybe more sugar next time.

This is the best frosting I've ever made and one of the best I've ever had! Some time in the fridge makes it the perfect piping consistency. This got rave reviews at the last birthday party I baked for.

I made this frosting for an apple cake I made for a party dessert. A couple modifications: instead of sugar, I used 1/2 C Agave Nectar and I only had 1 C heavy whipping cream on hand, so that is all I used, but it turned out fantastic nonetheless. One of the guests, who is unusually hard to please when I try to make healthy desserts was absolutely in love with this frosting!

I decided to make this frosting because I had whipping cream that needed to be used...I'm glad I did! Made exactly as written except little less whipping cream... an awesome frosting for a "last minute decision" 4 layer red velvet cake which was courtesy of Sunny ... Thanks Tom for a great frosting and Sunny for a terrific cake recipe!

As per other reviewers, I used about 2 cups of powdered sugar and it was so delicious! I put them on top of the Gingerbread Cupcakes: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Gingerbread-Cupcakes-with-Cream-Cheese-Frosting/Detail.aspx Divine!

This frosting had a great consistency, but was VERY cheesy. In the future, I will add more powdered sugar and probably a bit of vanilla. :) That is just my preference, however, and it is great for frosting and decorating! :)

This recipe is delicious. I recently made it for a red velvet cake for a coworker's birthday, and it has now been requested for all future birthday cakes. I just made it again today, and it came out perfect again. I didn't make any changes, but I did chill the mixing bowl for a few minutes before whipping the cream.

Fabulous frosting. I used it on the "Too Much Chocolate Cake" recipe from this site. I used 1.5 cups powder sugar instead of regular sugar and beat the cream until it was almost butter! Came out fabulous. Will definitely use again.

After reading many of the reviews and hearing of all the possible problems with this recipe I was really leary of trying it. I went ahead and gave it a shot and I am glad I did. I did use confectioners sugar rather than the granulated, but other than that I followed the original recipe. It turned out perfect in texture and spreadability. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the cream cheese taste was milder than I prefer in a frosting. I served it on a white cake and everyone said it was great. Note: I whipped the heavy cream with frozen metal bowl and beaters and then put it in the fridge while I prepared the cream cheese mixture (just in case).

I've made this twice now and each time it was perfect! It is so smooth, which surprised me since it has regular white sugar in it. Yummm!
