I made this to take to a Football party -not sure if the guys would like it... as I ususally take a "meat type" of dip. But they loved it. It was gone in no time. I did, however, use low fat mayo and reduced fat swiss cheese -which did not affect the flavor or the consistency of the dip. I also added more salt/pepper and even some Lemon Pepper to it for some zip. I served Scoops instead of crackers for it. At least four other guests requested this recipe from me.

I had a question. I assume that if I make this in a pie plate as directed, I will be able to transfer it to a nicer plate and it will still look nice? I was wondering if putting it under the broiler would ruin the look if I transferred it. Thanks!

I made this AS IS for a picnic yesterday. It was FABULOUS! It was scarfed down in a matter of minutes, and several people asked for the recipe. This recipe will become a standard for all of my parties. It doesn't get easier or tastier than this.

This was a hit for Thanksgiving. After reading the reviews, I did add some fresh parmesan-reggiano cheese and pepper. It was great tasting and nice to look at. Next time I might add some chopped red pepper for some color. I served it with large round wheat crackers. I will be making it again for Christmas!

I've been making this spread for several years now! It is fantastic and always gets great reviews. This recipe is great with cheddar cheese too (instead of the swiss). Oh, and don't try cooking this in the microwave!! Who knew - the oil seperates from the cheese - yuk!! What a mess! LOL!

Made this at a girls night party and the bowl was practically licked clean! Nobody could believe how simple it was to make. Am making again for Thanksgiving appetizer, per requests! Thanks for a great recipe!

I have been making this for a while and everybody loves it. It's super easy to make and I can't count the number of people I've had to give the recipe to. I usually just do 2 cups onion, 2 cups mayo and 2 cups swiss cheese, I also add a little romano, salt and pepper.

Really good and very easy! I made this the night before a party and let it sit at room temperature for about a half an hour before baking. I didn't have any trouble with greasiness and I sprinkled a little parmesan cheese on the top before baking. Very good!

I made this recipe exactly as stated, using Hellmann's Light mayo. It was fantastic! All of the very picky eaters at my house raved, and it was the first thing gone. I can't even imagine what it would taste like with full fat mayonnaise. It would rate 6 stars! Thanks so much for the wonderful recipe.

Surprising addicting! Delicious on miniature slices of pumpernickel bread. We also like spreading it on warmed pita or as a homemade pizza topping.
