"This is a variation of the classic salad with apples, grapes, celery and nuts. If you aren't a walnut fan, pecans make an excellent substitute. Creamy salad dressing can be substituted for mayonnaise. "

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 1/2 lemons, juiced
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup seedless grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, toss together the apples and lemon juice. Stir in the celery, nuts, raisins and grapes.
  2. Fold together the whipped cream and mayonnaise; add to salad and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle with nutmeg and chill before serving.
