This is a simple version of the classic. The mayonnaise based dressing is made with a smidgen of sugar and lemon juice, and stirred into diced apples, celery, walnuts, and raisins.

This is a variation of the classic salad with apples, grapes, celery and nuts. If you aren't a walnut fan, pecans make an excellent substitute. Creamy salad dressing can be substituted for mayonnaise.

Wherever I take this one-of-a-kind salad, people eat it until it's gone. I got the original recipe from my mother-in-law and adapted it to fit my tastes. My fondness for cheese and cranberries prompted my to toss them into the delicious mix.
