My husband and i both enjoyed this dish alot. I followed the recipe exactly. I would give it 5 stars but the ratio seems wrong. It either needs more eggs or less cheese. I also precooked the hash browns for 15 minutes prior to adding the rest of the ingredients. Next time I will up the oven temp. while precooking the hash browns to try to crisp them more. Delicious for breakfast or dinner.

Very good. Entire family enjoyed. I only used about three cups of cheddar because it seemed like so much but i dont think the additional would hurt. Did prebake the hash browns. Next time I will add an additional two eggs just to stretch the servings.

The casserole was okay, but not outstanding. Kind of dry.

Made this but used sausage since I couldn't find the cubed ham and also a little less cheese. I then refrigerated it and left if for people to eat the next morning. I tried the casserole a few days later and it was still good!

Very good breakfast casserole. As other reviewers suggested I pre-baked the hash browns for 10 minutes. I didn't have any problem with them being soggy. And, instead of 7 eggs I used 9.

This dish was amazing. As always, I added my own flair to it, and substitued cream for milk, sausage for ham, and use a mixture of mozzerala, montery jack, and cheddar. I also used real potatoes cut into slices, and added diced onion and red pepper. I cooked up a white gravy to serve with it. My family can't stop talking about it. I will definitely be making this one again and again.

I made this recipe for a school carry-in. Everyone loved it! I browned the hash browns as several others had recommended. It is a very tasty dish; I will definitely be making it again.

My husband loves it when I make this. It's very easy to put together, too. I usually use tater tots which works out well. I also buy a 1-lb package of pre-diced ham, which makes it even easier. Great with mushrooms added (sprinkle on with ham) and also works well with sausage. I have used egg substitute instead of eggs as well with great results. This is a very versatile dish and handles changes well.

Super recipe - We have it regularly for a "breakfast" dinner - One thing I've changed is that I now make it with tater tots instead of hash browns. I did it one time when I didn't have hash browns in the freezer, and everyone loved it. It seems to allow the egg to mix with the potatoes better, and makes for a great texture.

I thought this was pretty good, but way heavy on the cheddar. After seeing the consistency in the pan, I added 2 more eggs blended with a bit of extra milk, salt, and mustard. For me, those 2 extra eggs made the recipe much more balanced.

My boyfriend loved this breakfast dish! I followed this recipe exactly, but i think next time i am going to add more ingredients such as mushrooms, green peppers, and sausage or bacon instead of ham because i am not a big fan of ham. Thank you for the recipe!

I combined this recipe with another and added my own touches and got a lot of compliments on it. I browned the Hasbrown patties before I layered the pan. On the second layer, instead of ham, I substituted browned sausage and bacon pieces cooked together, then drained, then a layer of shredded cheddar. In the egg mix, I mixed in a can of condesed chedder soup (with an electric mixer)then folded in chopped pepper, onion and mushrooms slices. I finished it off with another layer of cheese. They loved it!

I tried this recipe as brunch for my family on a Saturday morning. It was so easy. I thought the 4 cups of cheese sounded like too much but I always try to follow the recipe exactly as is the first time and adjust on following attempts if needed. It really was NOT too much cheese. I did use the suggestions from other membesr and pre-baked the hash brown patties as other members had suggested. Turned out great - crispy bottom. This is a tasty, easy recipe.

This is a GREAT recipe! Able to change it up to your taste and it will still come out great! I used shredded hashbrowns w/ pepper and onions. Browned entire bag first in skillet. Topped with 1/2 lb of sausage, then cheese, then bacon (bought the already cooked bacon-just chopped it up, I used the entire box...we LOVE bacon). Added 2 extra eggs and 1/2 cup of milk to the egg mixture and it turned out delicious!! I will definetly make this casserole again!

I made this casserole for my Sunday School Class. It was a big hit. I took the advice from others and cooked the hashbrowns first for about 15-20 minutes. Used turkey sausage patties cut in cubes instead of ham. Added sauteed bell pepper and onions. Also, used 8 eggs. Will make again.
