Used whole dozen eggs and only 1/2 the ham. Excellent overnight dish. Very tasty.

Really good... I think a pound of ham is really a lot. I just used the 8 oz. Package of diced ham from the store. I loved how the little pieces of ham on the top got a little browned and chewy.

I made this casserole exactly as written. It was delicious! Hubby's not much for casseroles (especially breakfast casseroles) and he LOVED this one! Great use for leftover ham. Will definitely make this again. It was a bit salty (could have been my ham) so I'd leave out the additional 1/2 t. of salt! Thank you Iris!

Really liked this casserole. I've made it with ham and with sausage. We like it both ways. We have a son in college and he requested this casserole so he could have a good breakfast. I baked it in a 13 x 9 and let it cool when done. I cut it in 8 big squares and individually wrapped each square in plastic wrap and put in a freezer zip-lock bag. Froze all the squares. When he wants one, he just microwaves until hot. He adds some toast and juice and it's almost like being at home for breakfast - minus mom and dad! I love the dishes that can be made the day ahead. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I don't like to cook, but this is just TOO easy and it feeds the masses. I cook the hash browns for 10 minutes prior to adding the toppings. I also added onions, green pepper and sage sausage in addition to the ham. SO yummy!

This recipe was delicious and very easy. I used sausage instead of ham, but I'm not sure why the recipe would have you add salt for either. I followed the recipe and it was way too salty. This a great recipe minus the salt and I also added some chopped red pepper to the top.

I wish I would have read all of the reviews first, before making this one! I was hesitant to make it using pre-made hashbrown patties, because they are so "greasy," compared to shredded potatoes or boiled and sliced ones. But, then I started making it before I also realized it had 4 CUPS OF CHEESE! That is the full amount in the larger bags of cheese. Most of the reviewers did what I should have and used half the cheese. My usual breakfast casseroles also have a sauce or soup that also makes them a little creamy to. This was kind of dry. I believe because it had to cook nearly 3X longer than other breakfast casseroles I have made. It got eaten, but if I made again I would have to re-work this to cut back on the greasiness.

Will make again, very easy. I can see where you could easily substitute breakfast meats & cheeses. I did precook shredded hash browns it was very good.

This was really yummy! I used sausage because I didn't have ham. I also didn't use as much cheese as it called for and I cooked the hash browns in the oven for about 15 minutes. I only needed to cook the casserole for 50 minutes. Really good!!!

I have parents make this ahead of time and bring it along on overnight field trips to reheat for breakfast. It is loved by all, kids and parent chaperones.
