I ran out of Bisquick and the kids wanted waffles, so this one looked worth trying. Made them just as recipe stated and we all loved them and we will be making these instead now. It made 12 waffles - just the right amount for our family of 5. Thanks!

Great simple recipe. Very light and fluffy. I added strawberries and blueberries that I had chopped in my cuisinart first. I also made extra waffles and froze them. They're great a few days later....just pop them in the toaster for 15-20 seconds!

Oh so excellent! Best recipe I've tried so far with whole wheat flour! nice, crispy, light. We like chocolate chips so I added 1 cup to my batter. Needed no non-stick spray on my non-stick waffle maker.

This was an excellent recipe. I changed a couple of things to fit our taste. I seperated the eggs, cut the milk to 1 1/4 cup, doubled the vanilla, added the rest of the wet ingredients, and two mashed bananas. I then added the dry ingredients and lastly the two egg whites (which I had beaten till stiff peaks were formed). They were so good!! Next time, I will try it with whole wheat flours, a little wheat germ, and some flax seed meal. Thank you so much!

This was decent. It was easy and quick to make and texture wise was perfect. It was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The problem was that it was a bit bland - I didn't think even the butter or syrup enhanced it. I would not make this again, but I appreciate you posting the recipe. Thanks.

I just bought a mini waffle maker and have been eager to try out a few waffle recipes. Within a span of 3 days I have tried two waffle recipes on this site. This one, and the Classic Waffles Recipe. Both my husband and I agreed that we much prefer the Classic Waffles Recipe. They came out perfect, crispy on the outside, and light and fluffy on the inside. On the other hand, this recipe, Waffles I, came out slightly soggy. I think it might have to do with the dry to wet ingredients ratio. The Classic Waffles Recipe calls for slightly less milk and oil/butter. They just worked out so much better for us. And,it might really just have to do with what brand waffle maker you have. I would try out both and see which one works out best for you!

Very easy and simple. I thought they were a little bland but my 3yr old and 1yr old gobbled them up so they will be worth making again for an easy breakfast.

I first tried this recipe as written, but have tweaked it to be more to our liking. Use double the salt and sugar, only 1 1/2 cups milk and bump up the flour to 2 1/4 cups so the batter is thicker. My boyfriend prefers half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon in the batter. I've been making these waffles every Sunday for a month now and we love them!

I used whole wheat flour and doubled the vanilla. They were very light and fluffy although I did have a little trouble with them sticking and ended up using a lot of oil on the pan. Depending on your waffel iron it may not be good for it to use a non-stick spray, mine says not too. The propellant can damage the non stick coating so I use vegtable oil and a brush to apply it.

They were light and airy, which was a nice change from some of the other recipes I have used. I froze the waffles I wasn't able to eat and they work well popping them in the toaster for a quick breakfast (not as good as right out of the waffle iron but still tasty).

The perfect waffle mix! I beat the eggs together, but for a good 5 minutes with the Kitchen Aid on high before adding the rest of the ingredients. Waffles are fluffy and very tasty!
