Yum! I really liked these. I did double the sugar and vanilla and I used half whole wheat. My whole family liked them.

Great recipe! Nice and fluffy! I did health-it-up by using King Arthur whole wheat flour in place of the white, aluminum free baking powder, 2 tbsp real maple syrup for the sugar, olive oil for the veg oil and added a dash of cinnamon.

This was my first time making homemade waffles and this recipe is soooo incredibly easy and they turned out awesome. I used whole wheat flour, doubled the vanilla and added a little cinnamon. Half way through making them I saw 2 bananas that were going bad so I mashed them up and made banana waffles. Turned out pretty good, they don't get as crispy on the outside and turn a little dark. They taste like banana bread though! I make these ahead of time and freeze them for my 2 year old so she doesn't care what they look like, she just knows they taste good :)

A simple, yet good waffle recipe. The only thing I change is to separate the egg whites, whip until stiff peaks form, then fold them in at the end. It makes the waffles so much fluffier! We also love to add chocolate chips. Double the sugar and vanilla for a sweeter, richer waffle. Yummy!!

I was really unsatisfied with boxed waffle mixes and this one was a great improvement. They were light and fluffy. I really enjoyed them. Thanks!

Very easy and quite good. Used one cup all purpose flour and one cup wheat flour (in an effort to use up some of the wheat flour I had on hand). Also served with fresh, homemade strawberry sauce, whipped cream and topped with cinnamon and powdered sugar.

If you've ruined breakfast by screwing up the waffles ( I sound like an opening for a promo :), this is a fail safe recipe. I wasn't paying attention, (multi-tasking on everything but preparing breakfast), to the order nor the proper combination of ingredients and dumped them altogether into a bowl ...I looked into the mess I had made and pulled out my mini-hand mixer that I use to whip heavy cream into whip cream and blended it together for 2-3 min., until it was creamy. To add to this mess, I threw in an equal amt of almond extract matching the vanilla. These waffles turned out perfect, light and fluffy, melted in your mouth, can't wait to cook the rest of the batch; I froze half the batter. I sprinkled some powdered sugar on top and poured maple syrup on top for an added sugar high, love this recipe...a real winner!

Light and fluffy! Just a not about the sugar: If you want to eat your waffles like a cookie then I would add sugar. If you add sweet stuff to them anyway, then I personally don't see the need for added sugar.

The first time I tried it, it was so so, but easy to make because I used a blender. I also tried to make it healthier by grinding oatmeal in place of some of the flour. The second time I made it, I separated the eggs and folded in the whites and it was AMAZING. The only complaint I have is the 1/2 cup of oil. The next time, I'll try substituting some applesauce to make it healthier.

These were great. I tripled the recipe to make more later this week. My 9-yr old daughter mixed these up and she said the batter was very easy to make. They were nice and fluffy and browned beautifully. I added fresh bluberries to two of them and they were delicious.

Yummy, crispy (but tender inside)...great with mini chocolate chips for a fun treat. They save and toast up well for later.

My turned out too crispy - never had that happen before, so much so, I couldn't get them out of the wafflemaker. After three failed tries I made pancakes with the rest of the batter - with modifications, it would be an excellent recipe for crepes.

This recipe was very good! I followed the suggestions of others by doubling the vanilla, doubling the sugar, adding 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and separating the eggs. I whisked the egg whites until light and fluffy and folded in last. I also used a hand mixer. The batter seemed thinner than a typical box mix, possibly b/c of the hand mixer. May work just as well using a whisk. The recipe will make at least 5 full size waffles and probably 6 if none of it ran over the sides (thin batter). The result was light and fluffy pancakes! They tasted very good and my friend said they were "the best waffles he ever had." I definitely think the cinnamon and vanilla are the key ingredients. I also noticed that the waffles are crispier if you don't spray the iron with cooking spray. If you like softer waffles, spray it every other waffle made. I also added chocolate chips to a few - Yum! Batter works great stored over night as well.

This was my first time making waffles from scratch so I wanted just an easy recipe to follow. This was not only easy to follow, but my waffles turned out wonderfully (minus my first mistake of putting too much batter into my waffle iron!). I have a thing for cinnamon and vanilla so I ended up putting in a whole lot more vanilla than called for. I also didn't separate the eggs like what some people had suggested and my waffles still turned out amazing! I will be making this again in the future as it makes 8 large waffles.

I tried this recipe twice. The first time was great! I used half whole wheat flour. The second time I didn't have enough baking powder so I tried half soda and it flopped big time! Just a note for people--DON'T use baking soda!!

We do not use bottled vegetable oil for any baking/cooking, so I used melted butter, and these came out wonderfully. The whole family gobbled up each and every one. Next time I may double so I can freeze some for a fast breakfast morning. Thanks!
