What a nice alternative to using up a loaf of stale bread. I made this with a multi grain sandwich bread and it was delicious! I add about a 1/4 tsp of pure vanilla extract and a dash of apple pie spice to the eggs and milk. Used fresh blueberries instead of the strawberries. What a treat!

What a great idea !! So easy and tasty. All I had on hand was Rye bread and added a dash of cinnamon. This one's a keeper.

What a great idea! I doubled this recipe and used four full eggs instead of a combination of eggs and egg whites. I also added a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of vanilla extract, as I do that to all my french toast recipes. I made sure to spray my waffle maker really well with non-stick spray so I wouldn't have to worry about the french toast sticking to the waffle maker. The kids thought this was great! I don't have strawberries right now, so I served my waffled french toast with homemade maple-vanilla syrup. NOTE: A doubled recipe here was enough leftover to freeze a portion for a kid when we're having a busy morning and no time to cook a hot breakfast for a kid that wants one.

For the simplicity this gets a 5 star rating. I'm not one who normally likes fruit w/ my french toast or waffles, at first I was against making the strawberry syrup - I went ahead and made it - it pleasantly surprised me!

I just made this for breakfast and was really surprised at how it turned a piece of bread into a waffle! I used one slice of Arnold's Original white bread and one egg and just a tablespoons or so of milk (enough left over that I could have used 2 slices). It came out with a nice crispy outside and a soft eggy inside. A quick, easy way to make a waffle for one. This one's a keeper.

This is a great way to way to make up some frozen toaster waffles, and, as a bonus, to use up bread that is on the verge of going stale. Make up a batch put them on cookie sheets to individually freeze. Then put them all in a zip-lock bag and back in the freezer. I usually add sugar, cinnamon and vanilla to the eggs and milk for truly 5-Star Waffled French Toast.

this is a super easy way to prepare a "fancy" breakfast. I added half a teaspoon of sugar, a few grates of nutmeg, and a couple drops of vanilla extract to the egg batter. I didn't have the strawberries and syrup, So I served it with some cinnamon flavored honey butter and sliced bananas. It was good, but not amazing. However, the convenience makes it worth it to make it over and over again.
