These taste like brownies. I always double this recipe! They are also good frosted with sprinkles or chopped nuts.

I'VE HAD this recipe for years. It's economical to make, yet results in a delicious cookie. At Christmastime, I invite my grandchildren to join me - it makes a simple baking experience for them. They especially like sprinkling the powdered sugar on top...and the taste-testing afterward! -Pat Oviatt, Zimmerman, Minnesota

These are very yummy cut-out type cookies. You may end up not needing all of the 2 1/2 cups of flour.

Tastes like the original sugar cookie sold by Girl Scouts in 1935. Taste a bit of history!!

I found this recipe in my Grandmother 's file box. They just melt in your mouth. It made a big hit with my family. You can also use chocolate chips or nuts instead of raisins.

A great cookie for cutouts that are brown in color: footballs, animals, leaves, etc.
