I am so very suprised at how good this is....just thought I would use my can of chickpeas, the can that has been sitting in the cupboard for years:) Made this and wow! I am a convert!!! Love it. Will be buying chickpeas much more often! Thx

Oh man this is tasty! I'm unable to read ingredient amounts and accidentally added 1tblspn of dill (thankfully I love dill!) so to counter it I added a bit more mayo, a bit more lemon juice. I also added some minced up garlic. Since chickpeas are so plain yet tasty I can imagine the possibilities are near endless on what you can customize with this recipe. You could add carrots, paprika to give it spice, use Italian seasoning instead of dill. I will say mashing chickpeas with a fork is *not* fun. Use a potato masher or a food processor (neither of which i have...yet). I'm really glad I decided to make this for lunch today!

I felt the dill was WAY too overpowering. I decided to try this again with cumin and it was very good. Maybe that just personal preference.

This was fantastic on the Finnish flat bread and topped with tomato and avocado. I added a little extra mayo after refrigerating it for a couple of hours to make it more spreadable. I will try olive oil instead of mayo next time.

A really good base recipe- I added both yogurt and mayo, and also fresh dill. Next time, I'm going to add cayenne &/or garlic for more zip. Thanks for the recipe!

As it stands, this recipe is pretty bland. I am going to give it another shot with what some of the other reviewers have suggested. That should make it at least a four instead of a two and a half to three.

Great sandwich spread and so simple to make. Would be great in a pita, a wrap, or just plain sandwich bread. This will add some much needed variety to my lunchbox. I like the ideas for adding garlic and Tobasco.

I found this to be bland and would look for another recipe instead of altering this one. I tried it on break and with chips but neither impressed me.

I absolutely loved this. I added some sweet relish to the mix and left out the raw onion. I had it with some wholewheat crackers and salad and yes it is addictive....luckily I only made a small amount. I'm making it again tonight for dinner. I will probably try it with tortilla chips and carrot and celery sticks.

Very good! I never would have come up with this, but plan on making it regularly. I left out the celery and served it on pita with tomatoes, spinach leaves, and avocado. Delish!

Even my friend who hates chickpeas loves this recipe! I often make it for picnics and serve it with pita. It's also quite good with fresh red bell peppers in place of the celery. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was a hugh his with the non-vegetarians in my family. I stuffed it into a pita with cucumber and tomatoe. Perfect summer lunch.

This is a really great recipe! It is so quick and easy and also very versatile as it can be had with almost anything. You can add almost any dressing or spices you want to it to change the flavour. I made this recipe the first time with out the celery because I didn't have any. I have to say its so light compared to the tuna/chicken salad version, yet still just as filling. This is definately something I will do again!

Really really good. Used fresh dill and lemon juice chopped celery and chives. I can't eat raw onion, but I put a slice on my husband's sandwich. The dill and lemon give it the seafood vibe without the fishy thing. It's so hard to find a decent cheap veggie filling. I will make this again definitely. Had it with lettuce and tomato on a kaiser roll.
