This was fabulous! I made my own chicken broth out of a roasted chicken that I made the day before. Made stock out of the bones, neck, skin and gizzards. I used ten cups of stock, added 1 Tbsp each of salt and black pepper, added an entire package of fresh sliced mushrooms and 2 cups of fresh spinach, 1/2 tsp of dried basil, thyme, rosemary and cayenne and 3 Tbsp of picante. I didn't use any chicken bouillon. It was so delicious. I will make this again and again. Next time I'm going to try adding Royal Blend rice instead of the whole wheat noodles.

My husband really enjoyed this soup. We are on a grain free diet, so I omitted the noodles and used homemade bone broth instead of water and bouillon. I'm sure it would have been great with the noodles as well. I used homemade hot sauce in place of the picante sauce, and even though I didn't use the full amount, it was still a little too spicy for our children. I used frozen raw chicken breast and added it at the time I added the frozen broccoli and cauliflower, and that worked well. My only complaint was that the broccoli and cauliflower were too big (but if they had been raw, that would have been easily remedied, it was my fault for using frozen).

This is better than I thought it would be. Instead of noodles I substituted 1 cup of wild and basmati rice along with a couple of tablespoons of fresh Italian parsley. Also instead of boullion granules I used packaged vegetable broth.

I made this last night and my husband gave it two thumbs up! I also loved it....very easy and exceptionally tasty. I followed the recipe exactly except I had no cayenne pepper on hand so used paprika with a dash of chili powder (to equal amount of cayenne pepper in recipe). Served with warm homemade whole wheat bread/butter, it is a hearty meal! Thank you for the recipe. It is definately a keeper!

pretty good but the vegetables were too squishy when cooked that long.

Good, but somewhat of a standard recipe. I added another bouillion cube and some seasoning salt for some extra flavor. Good basic soup that is easy to make.

Loved it! I cooked the noodles in the broth, otherwise just as the recipe instructs. I think I will add more vegetables next time, tho.

Used 5 chicken breasts...left out celery, broccoli and cauliflower. Added 2 bay leafs to the boiling chicken, and 2 bouillon cubes. Added 1 can of corn, tomatoes with rosemary and oregano, navy beans, and bag of frozen peas, also added 1/2t black pepper, chicken seasoning and salt to taste.

I LOVE this recipe, especially the little extra kick from the picante sauce. I used medium this time, next time I'm using "hot" Thanks!
