Really great. I cut down a little on the oil. Replacing with a little applesauce makes them a bit more fluffy. Also wanted to comment on a previous comment: there IS vegan white sugar out there, such as Florida Crystals. Turbinado sugar is not as fine and affects the consistency and flavor. Also, do not mix the water and the flour first before the other ingredients: this will make the blending of the ingredients virtually impossible and you will have little strings of unmixed flour dough througout the brownie (gross. I know from experience).

These are great! My husband did not believe they were vegan... said they were the best brownies he has ever had. I did add more water and less oil and they came out perfect. I don't do a lot in the microwave but if you're ever in a chocolate meltdown, try 1/4 the recipe in the microwave for 3 to 3 1/2 min. It's at least as good as the oven, maybe better.

a good vegan brownie recipe is hard to find but I think my search has ended! I halved the recipe and baked it in a 9x9 pan. I subbed 1/2 cup apple sauce and 2 Tbsp oil for the 1/2 cup oil as other reviewers suggested. I also tossed in a half cup or so of chocolate chips.

I made these to take to a friend's place as he had made dinner for me. He's vegan, so I really needed to make sure that I found a reliable vegan brownie recipe; this one worked out well. I wasn't fond of the fact that there wasn't a binding agent in the recipe, so I added 2 tsps of tapioca starch to hold it all together and it worked very well. I baked these for 50 minutes at 350ºF in an 8x8 pan as i wanted thicker brownies. They were fudgy, amazing, and were very well received.

The only change was we used 1 cup soy milk rather than water, used only 1/4 cup oil and added 3/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce. Came out GREAT... we also made a frosting out of 1/4 cup vegan butter, 1/4 cup soy milk, 2 cups powdered sugar, 3/4 cups unsweetened coco powder and 1 tsp vanilla.... YUMMY!

I made two different versions of these. I did the regular, and I added chocolate chips to the other. The end result, is AMAZING. I don't generally like food I make, but this was just insane. My boyfriend ADORED them, and obviously, I'll be making these more often. :)

These were absolutely yummy! I took other reviewers' advice and used 3/4 cup of applesauce and 1/4 cup oil instead of the full cup. I also used sugar in the raw instead of white sugar and added a melted dark chocolate bar, they were really really delicious! Even my omni family loved them!

i am a GREAT cook/baker, but as a new vegan i have to learn everything from scratch. i have had horrible dessert experiences in vegan-land but these were VERY GOOD. i started freaking out on the amt of oil, so i made it w/half applesauce and 1/2 veggie oil (i didnt have coconut oil). they came out very cake like, but my omnivore inalws love them and thought they were un-iced chocolate cake. next time i will make a icing (almond milk, cocoa and powdered sugar) to drizzel on top.
