This soup was great!!! I was surprised, I was a little concerned about how it was going to turn out. The only thing i did was add a little red pepper and i used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth, i didn't have vegetable broth. Will defently be making this again.

Added a splash of lime juice and hot pepper sauce for more flavor since I found this soup bland. It is an okay soup but not great.

Good and tasty. Turns out more like a chili than a soup. Very easy and quick. Thanks for the recipe.

I was trying to use up some things, so didn't follow recipe exactly, but kept most of the measurements proportionate to original. I ended up playing around with it a bit until it was to my liking -- a splash of malt vinegar, a pinch of cilantro and oregano, a teaspoon or two of chinese mustard -- then crunched up tortilla chips for the topping. It was delicious! Hearty! Wonderful! Thanks for the ideas!

I just finished making this dish and I'm eating it now. This really is a good bowl of soup. The fact that it has a lot of vegetables in it makes me happy. This smells so very much like chili but has a very smooth texture along with some of the crunch from the corn. Over all a spectacular soup. Will definitely make again.

Overall, this is delicious! I skipped the carrots, celery and onions--as a previous reviewer said, they don't really fit in a Southwestern-style soup, I don't think. I added a little cilantro, too. A great soup!

When I know I won't be able to cook everyday I make a large pot that will last 2 or 3 days. It tastes better with each day. I modified the recipe a bit by adding more chili powder to make the flavor jump out at you. The entire family loves it.

Yummy! I love black beans so it's rare to find a recipe with them that I don't like. This is a fairly easy recipe that taste great on those chilly days.

This is the heartiest, most comforting meal I've ever made from a Web recipe. I vary the ingredients a bit...last time I processed black beans and chick peas for the base and then put more black beans and black-eyed peas directly into the soup. I also add extra tomatoes. Dee-lish!!

I used 2 cans of beans and processed one of them with the tomatoes. I added just 2 cups of broth then water as needed.

Nice, basic soup recipe. Very simple to make and comes out looking nice. The flavor was a bit bland for us so I added a little sea salt and some herbs.

Not bad, but it seemed like the cumin was too strong. I might back it off some next time.
