Do not expect creamy... Its not really. But its graininess is not entirely unappealing either. The graniness could probably be resolved by using a sugar syrup rather than raw suger just thrown in. I don't like the homemade ice creams that coat the mouth and this one was very 'clean'. I halved the recipe, but used 3 tsp Vanilla because I wanted a very intense taste. Its a good last minute recipe

Very good! I made this recipe three times in two days (with variations) for a large family gathering. The first time it had a grainy texture, so I dissolve the sugar in a 1/4 cup of water and the grainy texture was gone. On my last batch I substituted 1/2 c of vanilla creamer for the half and half . . . IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!

Very good. Not real sweet, but just enough sweetness for me. I could have easily upped the sugar to 2 cups. I may try a few more different ice cream recipes since this was my first attempt. I can't say that I got rave reviews by my guests, but it was still very good.

Yummmmmm!!!! Excellent recipe - perfect homemade ice cream. For me, the grainy texture is what sets homemade ice cream apart from storebought, and I love it!

The flavor of this recipe was wonderful, but it took a very long time to freeze. It also had little ice chunks in it rather than being thick and creamy.

LOVE this recipe! Love it even more that it doesn't include raw eggs! My husband has experimented with this as the basic recipe and added other flavors. His favorite--anise flavor with black food color! Great as just vanilla or as a base for other flavors!

Excellent! Quick tastey and no eggs. Used for the maiden voyage of my Cuisineart ice cream maker. Smooth sailing and rave reviews from all the crew (even the most "discerning" crew member). Texture is smooth and slightly grainy. I added a 1/4 cup of egg nog. Schoolee, thanks for the tip :-D

Ok this recipe was so easy and for all of you who loved it try this: I added 1/4 cup of Carnation Coffee-Mate French Vanilla creamer this added a wonderfull flavor and everyone wanted to know what I did to make it taste so rich. worked great will keep this recipe
