Great recipe! Makes a great snack! I think you could alter this according to your personal tastes, I stuck with the basic recipe though and it was great! We ate it as a snack and with milk for cereal.

This was pretty good, but I felt it needed more flavor, and I doubled the vanilla. I know it's supposed to be vanilla granola but I think it needed some cinnamon or something. I also found it quite oily. The cook time was too long for me, I baked it for 45 minutes and it came out a little dark. I will make it again but decrease the oil, add some spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and possibly add some dried fruit after it is cooked.

I didnt have all ingredients needed such as walnuts and coconut so I just used oats.. Baked for an hour thought it still wasn't dry enough however I Let it cool and it did harden up after all! I also added a little touch of maple syrup and sprinkled with salt to taste and threw in just a bit of honey to group it into honey chunks about 10 mins before pulling out of the oven. Delish!!

We love this recipe. I am going to work to make it a little less sweet because it does contain a lot of sweetener. My girls love to help make it and their daddy loves to eat it.

This is a great base! I used twice the vanilla and added flaxseeds after baking. I only needed to cook 20 minutes per batch, at 250.

I made this almost exactly according to the recipe - just added some crushed banana chips for a bit of a fruity flavor (which, by the way, tasted WONDERFUL with the coconut.) I love it! Next time I might cut back a bit on the sesame seeds - they're good, but expensive and 1/4 cup would probably be more than enough. I thought it made a wonderful amount of granola, in fact I made a double batch! If you don't eat cereal every day and have a small household, you might want to halve the recipe, although there are no fast-spoiling ingredients and it should keep just fine for a few weeks. Since I'm making it for a family of 5 that goes through a box of cereal in about 2-3 days, a double batch means I won't have to buy cereal for a week or two! One lady commented that it burned in 30 minutes. I'm wondering if her oven temp was off, because I didn't have that problem at all - 60 minutes stirring every 15 minutes and it turned out perfectly. Maybe cut back a bit if you're layering it really thin and making a smaller batch, but as long as you stir it regularly and watch for it to turn golden brown (like you do in any granola recipe) it should turn out fine. We'll definitely be making this again, trying some other fruit and nut combos to keep in interesting!

Good recipe, something I would make again. I did not have coconut so after baking the granola I threw in dried mixed berries to add a little sweetness. DH liked it with yogurt and strawberries, and my mom said it's great with ice cream.

Great Granola Recipe! I have made many different ones and this is by far a favorite! Instead of sesame seeds I just used flax seeds and my oven is much hotter so I cooked it at 225 degrees and it turned out perfect! The house smelled of vanilla and it tasted excellent!

Really nice flavor, first time I've made granola. The smell of the vanilla filled the whole house. It's turned out to be a hit with family and friends! I added dried apples in for more crunch, rasins, and almonds. In the syrup, I added a dash of salt to help bring out the flavor. Also this is a fantastic recipe because not only is it delicious, it also is cheap and VERY filling! In moderation can really take care of those midday snack cravings!
