Good base recipes, I think it is a little too much barbqsauce, but that's just my opinion, the recipe itself is a fun idea. Thanks!!

This is an excellent, kid-friendly recipe! I started out making the recipe as-is, but when I read that I was supposed to add 1 1/2 c. of BBQ sauce, I knew that would be way too much for everyone's taste, so I only add 1/2 c., just enough to coat the meat and give it a nice flavor. The uglies turned out fantastic, tasted great, and were gobbled up by the kids. This is a keeper recipe!

Maybe it was the bbq sauce that I used, but these were not good. I think it is a great concept though. You can really use any seasoning for the beef...but I would definately reccommend finding a substitute for the bbq sauce.

We also call these Barbecups! I make with the GRANDS (butter) biscuits, use Honey BBQ Sauce (we don't add onions or garlic); make sure the sauce/meat is 'wet' with sauce before putting into oven. Sometimes I add yellow corn. I don't rool out, just smash with fingers to fit into muffin tin, add the meat mixture and with shred. Mex. Cheese blend. This is a MUST have for Halloween Night, the kids can grab and run out the door for their trick-or-treating!

I thought this was tasty! I made ten of them, but I could have made a lot more with the amount of beef that was left over. I think next time I will either buy more buscuits or just cut the beef in half. I like the bbq/cheddar combination.

What a great concept!! I changed it up a bit, just to suit mine and my boyfriends taste. I used a burrito meat mixture instead of the bbq, and I used the frozen pilsbury grands (thawed)instead of the canned (they taste sooo much better). Thank you so much for the recipe!!

Simple AND good! My husband really liked these...I didn't tell him what they were named...I just called them BBQ cups or something! This recipe is great for a quick meal. It's easier to put the dough in each muffin tin, let it rest for a few minutes, and then shape it...this will save some time and not be so frustrating!

I had some refrigerator biscuits that I didn't know what to do with, and decided to try this recipe. For being so simple, this tasted much better than expected. I used a mixture of ground pork and venison for the meat, and subbed fresh minced garlic (1 1/2 tsp.) for the garlic powder. Used Famous Dave's Rich and Sassy BBQ sauce and Pillsbury Grands. I also only used about 1 c. of shredded cheddar, and that was plenty, and had a bit of the meat mixture left over. My 19 month old, who has been a picky eater lately, even ate some! I'm sure we'll make this again, since it was very kid-friendly. I think it might be fun to cut the biscuits up and use a mini muffin tin for appetizers.

they live up to their name, but they are so good. putting the biscuits in the muffin pan is the only time-consuming(and sometimes frustrating) part of the recipe. and they're filling too!

Excellent concept. I can see many possibilities for variations. I suggest not using a too sweet BBQ sauce, though. I'm going to try the Italian version as someone posted below.

I'm reviewing the recipe, not the concept. As one reviewer stated, there is no reason to roll out the biscuits. Just pick your favorite brand and plop it into a greased muffin tin. My mom gave me this recipe when I moved out on my own. She called them bbq cups. I think she snipped it from a Good Housekeeping magazine in the early 70s. She let us "help" with dinner and during the prep of this meal our job was to press the biscuit dough against the edges of the cup, creating a well for the meat. Now grown, the meat is usually ground beef in our home, but occasionally I will jazz up the hamburger and throw in leftovers from the fridge. My husbands favorite combo is when when I chunk in some leftover bbq brisket in with the hamburger. The addition of onion in this recipe earned it another star. But 2 cups is really too much cheese. I'd go with 1 - 1 1/2 cups. Often times I will use a pepperjack or sharp cheddar to counter the sweetness of the bbq sauce.
