I have made this cheesecake multiple times (including as the groom's "cake" at our wedding --my husband loves it), and it's always a hit!
I melted and mixed the chocolate chips into the batter the first time I made this, and it was too rich for us, so I either mix half into the batter unmelted or divide the caramel, pecans, and chocolate chips and sprinkle half of each on top of the crust, as the recipe calls for with the caramel and pecans, and use the other half on top of the cheesecake for decoration. It's delicious!
