I had never eaten a turnip and was looking for a new vegetable for the family to try. Two out of four kids, plus my husband and I all gave this recipe a thumbs up. That's a pretty good rating for any vegetable in my house. I may use a little less sugar next time because I tasted a cube of the turnip plain out of curiosity and it was already kind of sweet. My daughter said the taste reminded her of sweet carrots. I'll probably make this again.

As an avid new-recipe tryer, baker, cooker, etc etc, I can honestly say, I've NEVER tried turnips. My father-in-law gave me a bunch, and so had my inspiration. I looked up a few recipes that sounded good, and this one sounded the easiest. It was! And WOW!! was it good. I *did* heed the other reviewers warning about it being too sweet, and so only put in 1/4 sugar. But everything else was the same! My whole family LOVED IT!! I will now add this recipe to my regular repetoir! Thank you for posting!

Great use of turnips!! This is my first recipe using turnips since I started trying different veggies. I loved it, and now love turnips, I have made it twice now. I did add an extra egg and used less cinammon and omitted sugar the second time I made it.

Interesting use of turnips but it was a watery mushy mess. Tasted like what you would do with a sweet potato....I was hoping it would taste like one too, but it didn't. Probably won't make it again. I give it 3 stars because the taste wasn't horrible, just not my kind of thing.

Too sweet. Next time try *no* sugar at all and consider increasing the eggs. Changes: 1/4 cup sugar (still way too much!) 2 tbsp butter

I have finally found a really great recipe for turnips! This was very easy and tasty! I didn't have any trouble with the turnips tasting bitter; in fact they were sweet and custard like. I will definitely make this again.

I had a bunch of turnips from a local farm and had no idea what to do with them. Allrecipes to the rescue! This recipe was fabulous! It was more of a souffle than casserole and practically sweet enough to call it a dessert. Hubby told me to make this a permanent recipe in my box. Doris, thanks for sharing your grandma's recipe!

I was looking for something different to do with Turnips, so I decided to try this. It was very good. My husband is not really fond of turnips, but he really liked it. I only added 1/4 cup sugar and about 1/2 tsp (I didn't measure) of cinnamon. Sounds strange, but it was really good. I'll make this one again.
