My family loved this soup. I've always made turkey soup with dumplings after Thanksgiving turkey, but decided to try this recipe with the "slickers". Don't expect these to be like noodles ... they are noodle shaped dumplings. I also added a little more salt and a little sugar to the dough. The flour from the slickers makes the turkey soup nice and thick. I only used salt and pepper ... no bay leaf, parsley, dill, etc. Nice and simple turkey soup. Slickers take a little extra time but I thought it was worth it. I'll definitely be making this soup again come November!

Quite some work but totally worth it! Now I make turkey once a month thru the colder seasons just so we can have this soup.

What a tasty and easy recipe! I made a turkey soup last year and it got all mushy when I added the rice. I love that this recipe is with dumplings instead. I followed the recipe exactly except I only added 1/2 of the dumplings. I used about 3 1/2 cups of flour when making my dough, so I ended up with a lot. I didn't want it to take over the soup as I like mine more brothy. It was excellent! The husband and 2 year old gobbled it up!

Thought the broth on this one was a little strong. Too much parsley, I think. I didn't roll out the slickers thin enough so came out a little strange.

I've never made turkey soup until today. Usually, I pull off all the meat from the carcass to make turkey sandwiches. Today, I felt like making a hearty soup, so everything went in the crock pot and it came out perfect. The only changes were that I doubled the amount of dill, parsley and poultry seasoning. Also made mini dumplings from bisquick.

My (very picky) daughter said this was "amazing". "The Chinese noodles are the best, mom!". So good to find something healthy that she'll eat and enjoy.

Made this with smoked turkey off the Traeger. Loved it. I had never made the slickers before, they were good but definately have to go small with those.

This recipe is very close to how I make turkey soup. I add garlic, sage, thyme. a little oregano. For the "slickers," I used Annie's frozen dumplings which turned out great. Because I don't use as much liquid and a lot more of the vegies, my soup comes out more like a stew (a "stoup?"). I didn't put the peas in either because I didn't have any. Thanx for the recipe.
