Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Whisk 1 cup water, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper together in a bowl. Strain mixture, reserving solids and broth. Pour 1/2 cup broth and the solids into a large bowl; mix turkey, bread crumbs, and egg into broth-solids mixture until thoroughly combined. Scoop 8 portions using 1/2 cup measure and form each into an oval patty; arrange on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 20 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  4. Whisk remaining broth, mushroom soup, 1 can water, and gravy mix together in a saucepan until smooth; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  5. Flip patties and pour gravy over each. Continue to cook until gravy has slightly thickened, about 10 more minutes.

We tried this for the first time tonight and my family LOVED it. I added a 1/2 cup extra breadcrumbs to help with the texture and used an even 2 lbs of ground turkey and was able to get 11 steaks. I will be adding this to my menu rotation.

did not care for this. it is difficult to take a traditional beef dish and use turkey. the texture is so different. i do it often because my husband does not eat beef or pork. i did like the mushroom sauce.

we just had this for dinner and it was awesome we loved it. Im always looking for recipes for turkey and this will be a regular with us.thank you for a delicious and easy recipe.

This was very good. I used 2 - 16 oz packages of ground turkey. If I were to use 1-1/2 Lbs I think it would be a little too salty. Thanks for the very good recipe. Good way to use the ground turkey which is on sale often - $2 per lb! I served with mashed potatoes, corn and salad. Will use again!

This was really good! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and used 2 lbs of meat and an extra 1/2 cup bread crumbs. It wasn't too salty that way, and my 3 kids loved it!

This is an excellent recipe! I added extra garlic and used croutons instead of bread crumbs; I had to improvise. I will definitely cook this again.

This was very good, but tastes like turkey...imagine that! Very good and plan to try again with beef. My husband didn't care much for the turkey aftertaste. My four children gobbled it up, though. The gravy was delicious and made this meal! Thanks for sharing!
