So I just got done making this recipe, it has been sitting in my box for awhile and I finally took a stab at it. I changed a couple things with advice from fellow reviewers and I have no complaints. One of the things I changed was I browned the turkey drumsticks in a pan with olive oil before they went into the oven, before I did that they were sprinkled with poultry rub, then after I used the same pan and added more olive oil, red cooking wine, the basil, oregano, parsley and garlic salt. Then I sauteed the garlic and onions in the pan. Meanwhile I added chicken stock to that mixture and also the roasting pan with the turkey legs, then sprinkled more herbs into the roasting pan as well. Also added some fresh chopped tomatoes and then poured the pan mixture overtop all of that. Roasted in the oven at 325 for 2 hours, it came out falling right off the bone. My whole family loved it and even though I'm not a dark meat fan it was good. Made mashed potatoes and spooned some of the pan juices down overtop of that. Great recipe, thanks so much for sharing!

This was so very easy. I did brown the turkey legs first and then saute the vegetables as well. I forgot the garlic but no matter. I added fresh tomatoes because that's all I had and about a litre of my home-made special tomato sauce (but any tomato puree would work). I covered in foil and roasted for 4 hours because the drumsticks were huge. Everybody loved them and the bits that fell off in the sauce, I left there and we used them and what was left of the sauce as a delicious pasta sauce. What a great recipe: so cheap, so easy and so delicious! A hit with everyone. Thanks Sue :)

I pretty much followed the directions, except i left out the water and the chicken bouillon, and it was fantastic! The aroma in the house was mouth watering and the turkey was moist and juicy, falling right of the bone. This is def a keeper in my house!!!

This recipe is delicious! I used diced tomatoes instead of stewed tomatoes because that's what I had on hand. I always cook turkey drumsticks & this is the best recipe that I've made. The turkey drumsticks fall off the bone. I will definately be making this again & again. My husband & kids love it. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe.

My girlfriend and I were a little sceptical having never used tomatoes with a turkey dish. This is a wonderful meal. We served it with rice using the sauce like a gravy. Get outta here!!! Will make again.

This was really tasty. There were plenty of tomatoes, onions, and spices left over in the pan, along with the juices from the turkey. I put all of that in the blender and it made a pretty decent pasta sauce for another meal.

I had to rate this one, to try to make up for the 2 poor reviews. I always read the reviews of other cooks before deciding on trying a recipe. I browned the meat first like one review said. This takes care of the raw looking skin complaint. Using your imagination when reading the ingredient list will help you figure out what it might taste like and then you can add a few more spices (or a poultry rub like I did) which addresses the flavor complaint. Remember, if you don't like the ingredients, you probably shouldn't make the recipe...and you should definitely not bother writing a review for it.
