Smelled wonderful while it cooked, looked fab coming out of the oven, but the skin was tough as leather and the meat failed to "fall of the bone". However.. this is definitely a keeper for making oven chicken!!!

I am going to have to disagree with everyone else. I thought this recipe smelled great while it was cooking, but it was so bland! I seared the drumsticks first. I even used rotel tomatoes instead of stewed for a little extra kick. It was easy, but I doubt I would make it again.

I took the advice of one cook and coated the drumsticks in salt and pepper and seared in a very hot pan for a few minutes, until all sides were crisped. Check out "Searing Meats" an article on this site for more info on how to do it! I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I used a can of diced fire-roasted tomatoes because that's all I had on hand. This is a wonderfully easy and good recipe!

After reading other reviews, I crisped the legs, used 2 tsp garlic powder (as a rule of thumb I always at least double the amount of garlic in any recipe I find and often add it where it was not an original ingredient - IMHO about the only dishes not improved by garlic are sweets in various forms), omitted salt where the chicken bouillon has plenty enough, substituted diced tomatoes for the stewed and 1 tsp of poultry seasoning for the oregano / basil. The next time, I will include the oregano . . . possibly adding some fennel and / or marjoram. I greatly enjoyed this dish, but my bride put the kibosh to it, so it will go on the rather short list of meals to prepare when she is out of town.

I love this! We buy turkey drumsticks on sale after Thanksgiving and this is a great way to eat them. I do it in the crockpot and it works nice.

Was real good. I did what others said and seared the drumsticks and seasoned them with season salt and peper before baking them, I also added poultry seasoning turned out perfect!

This is a great basic recipe for novice and advanced cooks. Like others, I did subtle changes such as spicing to my taste. To get that nice crispy skin we all like, I seared it in a pan before baking. Lots of salt and pepper and 4 minutes on each side give you signature turkey skin. Great recipe though. Makes use of one of the most flavorful parts of the turkey.

Really nice, and easy too. I wasn't sure about it, so I only made 1/2 of the turkey parts I had. I should have made them all! My husband loved it! I substituted 1 tsp of poultry seasoning for the herbs listed. Also, check on them about half-way through and make sure they don't burn. All in all a great recipe.

The meat was tender, falling off the bone, and the aroma while cooking was fabulous. Flavor wise it was just okay, but the big negative for me was the appearance. The skin did not darken up at all, so it still looked like raw turkey skin after it was cooked.

Thanks, Sue! This was not only delicious it was SO easy. Prep took no time at all and you don't need to do anything as they cook - as another reviewer said, you do other things for two hours. My husband is an excessively picky eater and he loved it - believe me, that's huge. I would absolutely make this again.

This was so easy, I even had all the ingredients on hand. My family loved it. I used chicken broth instead of the boullion because that's what I had and it worked fine.

This is definitely a top recipe for us! My husband and I are doing weight watchers and this fits in well with our points. It's a delicious, savory meal that hits the spot every time! It's also very inexpensive. Dinner tonight cost $5.50 (since we had everything but the turkey, tomatoes, and onions). This is my fourth time in five weeks making this dish!
