First of all, when my most picky child says I need to make this more often, It's an automatic 5 star! I had to make some substitutions thought because I realized I didn't have everything I needed. So, I used 1 can of creamed corn instead of frozen, and I used chicken stock instead of broth. All I had was light red kidney beans, so I used one can of those and about 1 1/4 cups lentils. I also added a good handful of frozen peas. After reading the reviews, I thought I would start w/ only 1/2 of the recommended measured spices thinking it would be too spicy for my children. After tasting it though, I added the rest of the spices..I think I could even stand more next time. It was mild..really nice. I sprinkled w/ cheddar cheese and served w/ easy speedy corn muffins from this site. What a hit! ( I forgot, I left out the green chilis since I didn't have any, which is probably why it wsn't hot or too spicy. I'll try it next time w/ them though!)

I was looking for a healthy soup to make with what I had on hand (a bag of 15 bean mix, a pound of turkey, some bacon, an onion and some frozen green chiles). This recipe did the trick. I did add a couple of slices of chopped bacon to the turkey and sauteed an onion in that. I omitted the celery because I didn't have any, only used half an onion, and used 3 roasted hatch chiles because I have a ton in my freezer! I also only had maybe a cup of frozen corn, so I added more beans instead. The soup turned out wonderfully hardy and just spicy enough. Definitley a keeper!

This recipe was pretty good. I had to lower the amount of chili powder & cumin to keep the spiciness from overpowering the soup. Once the soup was complete, I sprinkled Parmesan cheese in my bowl & that cut down some of the heat. Overall, a pleasant dish.

The saga of my turkey bean soup.....For starters I did not have ground turkey, used leftover chunks of turkey from my freezer waiting to be made into soup. Well the recipe as followed thereafter was much too spicy for my taste. Nevertheles very delicious. So I started adding things.............more broth, more broth, 1/2 an acorn squash waiting for a home, then some (sopa) noodles, more broth. In the end it was very delicious, but still a bit spicy even with just 1/2 can of green chilis.

This was good...I was skeptical at first...I have a toddler so I ommitted the spicy ingredients (and only 1/2 of the chilli powder). I served with a corn and salsa crusty loaf bread. Everyone had seconds!

So good and easy. I add frozen peas to give it some color. Great with crusty bread on a cold night, and freezes very well.

This was a very tasty soup. I don't like corn, so I used another can of beans instead.

I used garbanzo beans instead of lima beans, omitted the celery (had none), and added carrots, garlic, and red/yellow bell peppers. This was a really good soup. It would also have been good with a wild rice.

Yum!! My 2 year old loves beans and meat so this was perfect for her. Loads of fiber in it too. I left out the corn and used green pepper instead, making it low carb.
