These were very fluffy. I used whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose, and they tasted healthier but they were still a yummy treat. (Especially with pure maple syrup.)

These pancakes are unbelievably good! This recipe makes a TON of pancakes, though. My husband and I made the 3-cup reduced recipe someone else recommended and we still made four meals out of it while eating 8 pancakes between us at a time! Thanks so much for the recipe.

My husband has never been a fan of my pancakes so I set out on a search for a new recipe. I've tried several but they never quite lived up to expectations. I actually got great reviews from the family on this one. Definitely a keeper.

I decided to make these this morning for my family. I followed the recipe, with the exception of the buttermilk. I didn't have fresh so I used powdered. Overall they were yummy. But they didn't taste like my favorite buttermilk cakes you get at the coffee shops.

I gave this 3 stars because as stated (I converted it to 7 servings) they were good, but there was a definite baking powder taste. They had potential though, so I made them again, this time using half the baking powder and baking soda, and added a bit of vanilla. MUCH better. They fluffed up just as much, and no baking powder taste. (These are not that fluffy to start with though.) With the changes, I give them 4.5* 7 serving is still enough to feed my family of 4 for 2-3 meals worth. I just freeze the leftovers for future quick breakfasts. Yum!

I haven't ever been a big pancake fan, but my kids love them so I've been on a mission to find a GREAT pancake recipe to make everyone happy. Well, after many recipes I've finally found THE BEST pancake recipe ever!! When I think of pancakes I think of thick, hard to swallow pieces of flavorless bread. These are definitely not in that category. I am now a pancake fan (well at least a fan of these pancakes)! These are absolutely wonderful and I can't thank you enough for submitting this recipe!

It's a very good recipe eventhough I have no means of getting buttermilk in my new place of work (Saudi Arabia). Thank you very much for posting the recipe.

Best pancake recipe ever. However, my husband takes a short cut by using Bisquick and omits the baking soda and salt. He then adds 1/2 tsp. of Vanillaand doesn't over-stir. I'm ruined. Can't get pancakes better anywhere than home.

This has been my staple recipe for pancakes ever since I stumbled upon it last year. It's absolutely perfect as is - although I do add a little bit of cinnamon & nutmeg. Thank you!!!

Wow, This was awful awful awful! I was super excited to try this recipe because of all of the reviews, but the taste of the baking soda was overwhelming and it made the pancakes inedible.

These were great! We had them for our Easter dinner (yes, I meant to type dinner ;). We halved the recipe, but only ended up cooking about half the batter. Hubby did say that he wished they were fluffier, but we both really enjoyed the taste, and our 16 month old who usually gives his pancakes to the dogs ate all of his. Can't wait to see how the batter we have left in the fridge cooks up.

These were very good. So thick and very filling. I did add a bit of extra milk to the batter to thin it out a little bit but not to much. Thanks!

I made these pancakes on Easter morning and they turned out fluffy and light, my husband really loved them, I just added some vanilla to the recipe, and I cut the recipe down to 1/5 the ingredients, and it was plenty for the two of us.

I wouldn't change a thing in this recipe. Sometimes the best recipes are the simplest. I added the zest of a lemon for a twist. And instead of using maple syrup, I made a Blueberry Compote. BLUEBERRY COMPOTE: 2 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, unthawed 1/3 cup sugar (can also use Splenda) 1/3 cup water Combine 1 1/2 cups blueberries, sugar and water in heavy small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently until berries burst (about 10 minutes). Add remaining 1 cup of blueberries. Cook until compote coats spoon, about another 8 minutes. Serve warm. I even top vanilla ice cream with this compote, but it's perfect with pancakes! Thanks for the recipe!

These are so good! Scaled these back a bit and still had enough to freeze for another time. There's just something about using real buttermilk that makes things light and fluffy! Be sure to let the butter cool after melting before adding the eggs so you don't "cook" the eggs. Served with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, juice and coffee - it's like having the diner experience right in your own house!
