My kids and I loved these. I was even able to sneak in 1 cup of whole wheat flour and the little people did not notice. This makes a big batch of pancakes, which is great for us. I just freeze them and heat them up for breakfast on school days. Thanks so much for this recipe.

I took this recipe to a family reunion camping weekend and it was a hit. I mixed all the dry ingredients into a zip-loc at home. Saturday morning I mixed up the wet in a big bowl and added the dry. My honey cooked them on a campstove grill to a golden brown. Everyone loved them and wanted the recipe.

This is THE BEST pancake recipe ever! My granddaughter is always asking when she can spend the night and have "Nanacakes" in the morning. My friends love them too. The only difference in my ingredients is I add vanilla and I grate fresh nutmeg into the batter. This is now my only pancake recipe.

I had tried another pancake recipe here but I wanted to try another one, so I tried this one and it is now my favorite pancake recipe. It's so moist and flavorful and the texture was just perfect. I didn't have buttermilk but per Loralie's instructions, I used lemon juice and it seemed to have worked. I can't wait to serve this to others and get their feedback on it.

This is THE recipe for pancakes! Although the batter was a bit too runny for my taste, the flavor was excellent! Delicious! The only change was that I did not have buttermilk and so mixed 2TBL vinegar with 2 cups of milk. I had this scaled down to 2c flour, 2c milk, etc., and had left overs! Next time, I think I will cut down the milk a little bit. Served this with a dolldrop of whipped cream, cut bananas, and grapes, drizzled with a little bit of syrup. Excellent! Even the non-pancake lovers admitted that this is delicious! Will definitely make again. Thanks for the great recipe.

So, I wish we could give ½ star... I'd give this recipe a 3½. There have been a few recipes where I stated they were good "starting points" and these pancakes definitely fall into that category. I honestly don't see what all the hub-bub is about. The recipe, for me, is not how pancakes should taste. I believe it has something to do with the amount of baking powder/soda in them. So, to try and combat that strong taste, I added cinnamon and vanilla - MUCH BETTER. I made half plain (for me) and half with blackberry syrup (for my husband) and his came out better. I think if you're going for a pancake to douse in fruity toppings, this could be it. But, for pancake purists who like only a little pat of butter and syrup, not so much. Also, I halved this recipe and still came out with about 20 pancakes! Think I'll try a different recipe next time...

Fantastic recipe. I certainly agree with others that the Buttermilk is definitely an essential ingredient.

I had a difficult time getting this recipe to the desired consistancy. It is usually very thin. We think it's definitely worth the effort though!!

These were ok - pretty indifferent about them. I think we'll stick to bisquick for the time being.

Really like these, but still can't seem to find pancakes as good as ihop. Not even the ihop copycat recipe is as good as ihop. But these were definitely yummy. Some of the best I've made at home. One tip, rather than stirring in blueberries, chocolate chips, whatever, pour the pancake batter on the pan, sprinkle with the berries, etc., then flip as usual. No blue pancakes, and perfect distribution of goodies!

Have always followed a basic Betty Crocker recipes for my pancakes, with no complaints...thought I would change things up a bit, to see if anyone would notice, so I gave this recipe a try...not only did the family notice, they made me sign a form, stating that, this is the only pancake recipe I will use from now on...

These were so easy and SO yummy! First off, I halved the recipe since I didn't need so many pancakes. Also, since I was running out of sugar at the moment, I only used about 1 T- still great! My kids gobbled these up with local Grade B syrup. Yum... Will definitely make again!
