INGREDIENTS
3 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 medium ripe bananas, diced
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and halved
1/3 cup lemon juice

DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil; cook and stir for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat; cool completely. In a 4-qt. freezer container, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour sugar water over the fruit. Cover and freeze for at least 8 hours, stirring once or twice. Remove from the freezer 20 minutes before serving.

I made this recently and I followed the directions precisely. BTW make sure you completely cool the sugar water or it won't be semi-frozen (slushie) in 8 hours. Anyway, the taste was great melted or semi-frozen. Next time I'll drain the mandarin oranges first. I'll definitely be making this many times this summer, maybe with different kinds of fruit.

If I could give it 10 I would. I did make one adjustment while cooking.....I boiled the simple syrup took it off the burner, cooled it for about 10 minutes, then I added the frozen orange juice concentrate to it. It cooled quickly and I was able to finish up.
