THIS DESERVES A 10 STAR RATING: 22 November 2007 -- I made this for Thanksgiving morning today and as soon as I took my first bite I said, 'I THINK THIS IS THE BEST COFFEE CAKE I'VE EVER HAD!' My adult son, who had previously stated that he wants to start accumulating recipes of all the great dishes I've made in past years, said after taking his first bite, 'This goes in The Book for sure!!'
I changed NOTHING in this recipe which is so very simple to make, but if I were to do so I think it would be to simply add some chopped Macadamia nuts to the topping or the cake mix itself. We were surprised at just how light the cake itself is and it's as good later when it has cooled off as it IS hot right out of the oven. If you're reading my review just know that **YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS COFFEE CAKE!** Everyone will remember how YUMMY it was!! Ciao...Poni (rhymes with Bonnie)
