A DEAR FRIEND shared this recipe with me over 30 years ago, and it has appeared on our table frequently all these years. It's rich tasting, plus the touch of red maraschino cherries makes it a real treat for the holidays or any special occasion. -Jean Kirkland, Newport, Oregon

This special gelatin salad takes the place of ordinary cranberry sauce on my Thanksgiving table. Grapes and mandarin oranges make it deliciously different. --Kristy Duncan, Southfield, North Carolina

This is a pretty salad and tastes good, too. There are 22 apple growers in the county where I live, so I have plenty of fresh apples to use for cooking. Years ago, there used to be local apple contests that my two children and I would enter. One year we made a clean sweep of the awards - and I believe this recipe was one of the winners!

My family enjoys this lovely layered salad in the summer with grilled hamburgers. Although I haven't used the recipe long, it's quickly become a favorite. A good friend shared it with me, and every time I make it, I think of her. -Susan Kirby, Tipton, Indiana

This recipe is a farm family favorite that's wonderful any time of year. Strawberry or raspberry gelatin works just as well as cranberry in this shimmering salad that's both sweet and tart.

A beautiful crimson gelatin salad filled with delicious stuff - jellied cranberry sauce, pineapple, sweet-pitted cherries and chopped pecans. This lovely mixture is stirred into cherry gelatin and chilled.
