This was delicious. I took the advice of others and halved the sugar in the whipped cream topping and it was perfect. Many rave reviews from friends, including those of latin descent. I did sprinkle cinnamon on top, but after tasting it, I personally prefer it without.

I made this for my family and they thought it came out amazing. I used only 4 eggs and i also only used 3/4 cup of sugar for batter and 3/4 cup for whip cream. It came out great.....will do again

I read a ton of the reviews for this recipe prior to making it. Lots of good advice, but it started to get very confusing after a while. I read a lot about the "egginess," "sogginess." and "sweetness" of this cake so I altered the recipe accordingly. I used 3 egg whites and 2 whole eggs when making the cake. I used a straw and literally stabbed the cake to death. I halved the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk for the milk mixture. I used the Joy of Cooking whipped cream recipe which calls for 1 cup whipping cream, 2Tsp sugar, and 1tsp vanilla extract. I sprinkled cinnamon on top and served the cake chilled at this year's Cinco de Mayo party. It was a hit!

I was not a fan of this, but not due to the recipe. I think I just do not like this type of cake. My husband however, loved it! I added strawberries and this made it more appealing to me. I think I will make it again, this time adding more strawberries throughout instead of just as topping.

My Cince de Mayo party guests went on and on about how good this cake was. After all the spicy food this was a nice "cool down". Perfect fiesta recipe because you make it ahead of time. I used maple syrup to sweeten the whipped cream to taste with good results. Not too sweet. Thanks Stephanie!

I loved this cake, like the other posts I cut the sugar in half for the topping and it was perfect. Even people who don't normally like Tres Leches cake enjoyed it!
