This is the recipe my grandmother used to make. It only uses pork for the pie and is delicious. I make one for my father every Christmas Eve and he loves it!

This is a hearty and savory meat pie. Ground pork is cooked up with onions and garlic until brown and crumbly, then simmered in broth with spices and parsley. This delicious filling is then spooned into a pastry crust, topped with another crust and baked. Serve with garlic mashed potatoes.

Some time ago, when I was working at a newspaper, a co-worker happened to bring a meat pie for lunch. The aroma was familiar to me, and I asked for a taste. To my amazement, it was the same pie my grandmother used to serve when I was a youngster! I copied the recipe, and I have been enjoying French Meat Pie ever since. It's still delicious!

This recipe was given to me as part of a bridal shower gift. My husband loves meat and pies, so he was practically in heaven when I made this for him! I have also used a refrigerated pie crust and it is just as good. Originally submitted to PieRecipe.com.

Cinnamon, cloves and allspice are sprinkled over ground pork, mashed potato and onion and simmered in water for about an hour until the flavors are mingled and a thick sauce is created. This tasty filling is spooned into a deep dish pie crust, topped with another crust, and baked until deliciously brown.

Ground veal, pork and bacon are cooked until brown and crumbly, and then they 're cooked a tad more with onion, garlic, celery and sage. Water and cornstarch are added, and then the filling is simmered until it 's thick and all the flavors are blended. This savory filling is spooned into a pastry shell, topped with a second crust and baked. Serve it with garlic mashed potatoes.

The filling for this savory pork pie is a wonderful combination of ground pork, heaps of mushrooms, celery, fresh bread crumbs, and lots of herbs and spices: parsley, ground savory, cinnamon and cloves. Everything is cooked up together and then tumbled into a prepared crust. The top crust is slipped on and the pie is baked until golden brown.

This pie is delicious! I got the recipe from my husband's mother. She is French so I believe this is a French Meat Pie. Beef, pork, and potato are all nicely spiced and baked into a pie. It's yummy and pretty easy to make too! Best served fresh, but you can also make ahead and freeze or refrigerate.
