This was the best!!! My family loved it. I used dry tortellini, added 1 small can of tomato sauce instead of the ketchup. Also added a few sliced fresh mushrooms for the last 15 min. of cooking. Will make again and share this recipe with anyone that enjoys a hearty Italian soup.

This was a yummy soup, but it needed some salt my hubby and I thought. My mother-in-law liked it, but agreed it needed some salt

This was an easy, tasty soup. Only modification was to use chicken stock instead of beef broth because it is what I had in the pantry.

My kids call this 'bellybutton soup' because of the tortellinis... it's really a great soup! Very flavorful. I used mild italian sausage, 1/2 can of tomato soup instead of ketchup, and made my own mixture of italian seasoning (oregano, basil, salt, pepper), and one addtl 14oz can of beef broth - The only ingredient I ommitted was the green pepper. The zucchini adds a nice flavor and texture. Will def. make again!

Yummy! However it may have been a tad too sweet, but I did use sweet Italian sausage & Vidalia onion. When I make this again (and I will!) I'll likely use spicy Italian sausage, regular onion & tomato sauce instead of ketchup. A big plus with this recipe is it all cooks up in one pot for quick cleanup!

I made this while at my folks' for the holidays b/c we wanted something light before the holiday dinners. I used chicken broth (not beef), ommitted the bell pepper and cut the ketchup by half. End result was a fast great tasting soup that pleased everyone. Served with a caesar ("Caesar Salad Supreme" from this site, now our "official" family recipe") and 7 adults ate the whole big pot. Thanks!

This soup was fantastic!! I used bulk sweet Italian sausage, so there were no casings to remove. I didn't drain it, because there wasn't much. But I would suggest that you drain every bit of grease, as it all shows up in the broth later. Didn't effect the taste, though, and I think I was the only one who noticed. Also, if you use turkey sausage, there may not be any grease.

Left out the ketchup and instead added one more can of diced tomatoes. Came together very quickly and was equally satisfying.

This recipe was FABULOUS! The only thing I changed was I added a 15 oz. can of kidney beans and 2 medium potatoes (cubed). This is a very hearty and filling soup. Wonderful for a cold winters day!
