Wow, I thought the title was a bit much but this was incredibly chocolate. The way I made it (with chocolate butter cream frosting & raspberry preserves in between the sliced layers) made it TOO MUCH chocolate (I couldn't finish my piece entirely) -- however, I went ahead & gave it 5 stars becuase I got awesome reviews from the co-workers. Next time I make it, I'll just be putting a glaze on it instead of the buttercream frosting -- it will still be very chocolatey!!!

This is a great, dense cake which makes it perfect for decorating...especially for a wedding! The first time I tried this I felt it tasted a little on the oily side, so I substituted 1/2c of melted butter for 1/2c of oil and that is a nicer flavor for me. I also always add real vanilla to a box cake mix, because this cancels out the artificial vanilla that is used in mixes. You get less of a "cake mix" taste, and more of a homemade flair! I also used the mini chips like suggested by others. Great to have this in your back pocket!!!

Amazing! I baked this for my mother-in-law and she raved about it and asked for it again. I'm a chocolate lover to the core, and this satisfied my sweet tooth ;)

I used 1/2 c 18% cream and no chocolate sauce. I also added a bag of Skor chips. Very moist and delicious.

I used to have a cake business and have made tons of cakes but this is the only chocolate cake that I make now. It is fantastic. Even though the recipe says to dust with powdered sugar (and you could just do that), don't be afraid to ice it. I have made it with chocolate, vanilla and cream cheese frostings and I get RAVE reviews!

This cake was just "ok" in my opinion. It wasn't as moist as I thought it was going to be. I think it is similar to the mini chocolate cakes at KFC, although I think those are better.

I made this for a friend's birthday and it was a HUGE hit! It is easy to make and easy to dress up with a bit of powdered sugar. I actually put some chocolate covered strawberries around it and dusted the whole thing with powdered sugar...looked and tasted great!

I followed this recipe exactly and it came out amazing!! Everyone loved it! I topped the cake with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this site. A great combination!! If you use the glaze, follow other's recommendations and melt the ingredients in the microwave rather than over the oven.

I started using this recipe in May, and I have made it probably 10 times since then. It is my "go to" recipe for cakes and cupcakes. We like to try different flavors, and my boyfriend's favorite is Mint Chocolate Chip. You can use Mint Pudding instead if you'd like, or just add Andes Mints instead of chocolate chips. I've also used white chocolate pudding and chips, and I'm looking forward to making lemon. This is the best recipe I have ever tasted...the sour cream was a bit scary at first, but now I add it to almost everything I bake...it truly makes the difference. Thank you SO much Denise!

This is AWESOME!!! I made it as is the first time. It was yummy but I liked it better the second time I made it with a couple of changes. I used mini choc chips and replaced 1/2 of the oil with applesauce.
