This was so moist and rich, it doesnt need icing, powder sugar is perfect. Just use your sifter or a strainer to apply powder sugar evenly.

I'm giving this a 4 because my husband and I didn't really like it, but my coworkers loved it. I only used half a cup of oil as others suggested and used a smaller box of pudding as I couldn't find a 5.9 oz box. The cake was rich and moist, but too chocolately for me. You definitely need to be a chocolate lover to fully appreciate this cake!

I have looked and looked and looked for a recipe that is THIS MOIST and I have finally found it!!!!! The cake stayed moist, almost wet in fact! The only gripe I would have is that it does taste kind of oily (a trade-off for the moistness I suppose!), so next time I will try the 1/2 cup oil, 1/3 cup milk variation. The glaze is too much to the already sweet cake...a butter cream or cream cheese frosting would go better. USE GOOD COFFEE INSTEAD OF WARM WATER! It adds really good flavor...I also put a dash of vanilla in for depth. Overall, what I had been searching for!

I have made this several times and always get compliments. I've always made it with the mini chocolate chips and am going to try a better brand larger chip the next time, as they don't seem to melt as I would have thought. I usually heat a can of bought chocolate icing in the microwave until it is warm, about a minute, then drizzle it over the top. Makes for a beautiful cake that is also delicious.

Ultimately, this still tastes like a cake-mix cake, but still: it's great. Definitely the best cake we've ever had that started out in a box.

Took out a 1/2c of oil but kept everything else the same, cooked for 40 minutes in my oven. Came out perfectly moist and wonderfully chocolate. Love it!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. I have made this cake 2 times now with the Satiny chocolate glaze from this site. After I added the chocolate glaze I also added heath bits to the top of that and not only is it beautiful but a chocoholics dream come true!

OMG, can you say YUUMMEEEE! Initially I was scared of all rich ingredients and calories, so what I did just to take the caloric edge off was substitute apple sauce instead of oil, sugar free pudding used 2 eggs and 2 egg whites. absolutely the best chocolate cake I have ever had. I had to put a piece aside for my husband it went so quick!

made as is perfect. to feel a little less guilt about eating more than one slice i will normally make this using apple sauce for oil and i like the mini chips becuse they do not sink and you get little chocolate dots throughout the cake. also top with satiny chocolate glaze from ar.

Easy, tasty and it goes so fast! If you use Pillsbury cake mix, you can omit the package of pudding... :) Thanks Denise!
